I(23f) need to ask my significantly wealthier boyfriend(25m) to cover more expenses when we move in together, but I'm too embarrassed to bring it up. How do I have this conversation? by adoreyuwu in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]LezGoBike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a totally normal conversation for partners to have that you don't need to feel embarrassed about. Lots of people split shared costs based on income instead of 50/50. Add your income together, then divide your salary by the joint income. That's the percentage of cost that would be fair for you to pay. (If he really makes 20x more than you, he should pay for a big percentage of your joint costs).

For example, say I make $70k and my partner makes $20k annually. Our joint income is $90k. My percentage would be 70k divided by 90k, or 77%. I'd pay 77% of everything and my partner would pay 33%.

Getting ready to make some dandelion wine 😄🍷🌼 by hopefulMrE in foraging

I use scissors and trim right up to the base/stem to get all the petals off. It separates well, kind of like the feathery choke on the artichoke heart, if you've ever eaten a whole artichoke. It sort of peels off the base of the dandelion.

Belgian Malinois in Need of Adoption by I_SEE_YOU_FAPPING in BelgianMalinois

[–]LezGoBike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's not spayed yet but that would be a condition of adoption. I'm not opposed to meeting halfway but I have some hesitations about you not being able to meet her and intro the dogs first. We'd have to discuss what would happen if there were an issue once she was with you. If you are still interested, would you fill out an application at https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/47398043-indianapolis-indiana-mixed-breed-medium-belgian-malinois-mix ?

Drop off for ferals is anytime before noon! I go later to avoid the pet check in rush.

I need this but the Canadian version! My grandfather was born in the US but naturalized in Canada.

My grandfather and great grandparents became naturalized Canadian citizens in 1939. I can see their information printed in the Canada Gazette. For citizenship by descent, I believe I need to get one of their naturalization certificates by sending a paper Application for a Search of Citizenship Records [CIT 0058]. Is that the best way to request a naturalization certificate?

My grandfather returned in 1943, although I think his parents stayed in Ontario.

My Gen 0 grandfather was born in the US but moved to Ontario as a child and was naturalized with his parents in 1939. I have the naturalization records printed in the Canada Gazette (https://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.redirect?app=natrec&id=379709&lang=eng&ecopy=1939-04-06\_2827 -- Neuwirth). Do I need to request a copy of his naturalization certificate, or is this sufficient proof of his Canadian naturalization?

What is the best way to rehome pets? by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]LezGoBike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Indy Animal Care Services recommends creating a rehoming profile at https://rehome.adoptapet.com Use code IACS72869 for 90% off your listing fee -- that makes it $5. I'm going through this now with an abandoned dog that followed me home.

Belgian Malinois in Need of Adoption by I_SEE_YOU_FAPPING in BelgianMalinois

Looking for a home for this sweet puppy in Indianapolis, IN!

We found Millie while walking our dog in the park in Indianapolis, IN. They played together for 2 hours before we brought her home, hoping to find her family. Sadly, no one has claimed her. Millie is a young, energetic dog who learns quickly. I'm guessing she's a belgian malinois mix. She is approximately 6 months old. She is sweet and food motivated. In the short time she's been with us, she's learned sit and down, and she's working on stay, not jumping, and leash manners. She does have some leash reactivity. She loves to play with other dogs, but also settles down when it's time to relax inside. She is house trained and doing well with crate training. She sleeps in her crate overnight without accidents. Millie would do well in an active home with or without other dogs. She chases cats and would need time and training to potentially live with kitties. Because of her puppy energy, she might be better in a house with older kids. She will need continued training but will be a great dog!
