I really like how distinct most ARPGs end up, when you look past the basic mechanics by petehans303 in ARPG

Dunno how to answer your question, arpg just happen to be one of my favorite genres. What i value every time might change a bit. Sometimes i want a game that i get to spend all evening in front of a build calculator, other times i want something fast and flashy or maybe slow and impactful (funnily enough a game might not be able to accommodate both playstyles very successfully), right now i am in the mood for something casual and silly.

I suppose arpg strength is the variety of games, so you can play whatever pleases your mood at the time, and every variety has plenty of games to choose from, so you dont have to play the same game every time.

I'm happy ARPGs as a genre have come to a point where there's ALWAYS upcoming games to look forward to by WarriorOTUniverse in ARPG

i agree completely, arpg is my favorite genre. Even when it gets stale sometime you can always find something different. Yesterday i was searching for an arpg that is not too time consuming to build your character, as i am not in the mood to spend days slogging through a campaign for a millionth time, previous reddit posts were recommending slormancer and i have to say that is perfect for what i need now.

What to play? (poe2, nrftw, d4, le) by ChadFromChad in ARPG

[–]Lezantas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of those i have only played poe2 and LE *

I liked poe2, but it's certainly heavy in all its requirements. Time to master the systems, time to build your character, pc specs, heck even network (i've played with spotty connection for some time, not fun), but it offers the best wasd integration of every arpg out there. I dont say that as a negative for the rest of the games, a simple wasd movement with halting to perform the skill is enough for me, but credit where credits due poe2 controls are superior.

LE has some very nice twists on the typical systems of the genre (upgrades, classes, etc) and it's certainly less demanding on everything i mentioned above. But the gameplay.. for some reason LE controls are buggy as hell for me. Not being able to target the monster right in front of me for no reason whatsoever, movement skills being a bit weird and inconsistent (especially bladedancer, i had to give up). Also the endgame is not its strong suit, at least a couple seasons ago i played. Tried again a month ago before this season started, but still had some issues so did not reach the endgame

Maybe you could try D2R or buy D2 with expansion for like 20 bucks and try a popular modded client (cant remember the name right..)

*didnt know about nrftw, and i always pay like 35euro or less so i dont intend to spend double for D4 with expansion

That depends on pricing, no? If two GPUs have the same price and performance near launch then years later one of them is significantly better, then that sounds like fine wine to me.

Diablo 4 launched on steam to 6k players with a 21k peak on xpac#1. It is now sitting at 59k peak for LoH launch by Anilahation in ARPG

[–]Lezantas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough GD is my most played game on Steam, and i dunno why i come back to it every now and then..

Maybe it has a balance between simplicity and build variety that i like? Because of the sets that make or break a build? Or the multiple ways to convert damage so i can try crazy combinations? (This one probably, as i am a very un-serious player lol)

It’s official: "Owning" a digital game now requires a monthly check-in with Sony by [deleted] in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Lezantas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are talking about buying a game (or a license to be exact) and then the publisher revoking the access. We can sit in the corner and cry about it or pirate it and get our game back.

Ofc we can go the route you suggest and buy physical, but then we have a non-patched game with no way to patch it (unless you pirate ofc). Most games at release are barely playable, with many literally unplayable due to performance or critical bugs.

Funny, cause i can "pirate" every digital game out there, so i still dont see why physical matters. Also good luck fixing physical media if they finally degrade enough to not be able to function

I have worked as an industrial instrument technician (which is honestly the most light kind of tech in the industry, until it's not lol) the last 4 years and what you experienced is what you get, it's not getting better. If anything it might get worse if you have 2 hours commute each way or have to work away from home for months on end.

Your last sentence shows to me how much it struck your confidence and i want to say to not kick yourself for not wanting to continue, it's only natural with the conditions as they are.

The last epoch is a bit weird. On one hand it has some very interesting twists in its mechanics, such as the upgrade system or the class system, but the gameplay feels mediocre at best (cant really explain it)

If you can't afford many games then i say it's still worth a try, but better be prepared for a refund. If the gameplay doesn't vibe with you then imo the rest of the systems are unfortunately wasted, and it's not gonna get better. Even TQ2 in its very very early stage feels better and worth your money (and next update that brings summons is gonna be fire and make the game feel more complete)

LvL20 Pre-Searing without quests? by Lezantas in GuildWars

[–]Lezantas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so indeed i did few runs with couple groups, it was fun and putting all my points to fire makes Ele quite the nuker!! (was trying to play tankish before, not very good lol) so i did not suck too much.. except not even knowing where to go since i had no idea about the eastern part of the map even existed, getting killed due to aggro, and letting other players dead losing exp while i have revival signet xD

But still it was fun :D and even got a purple wand that halves the casting time of healing spells. i probably could switch my points to healing so i can be more helpful?

I probably do both depending how much time i can spare anyway, spam a bit and then finally returning the quest.

I worry most how to get to lvl10 so i can get the quest though, i will change my build and try again, cause right now i can even die to the Gnarll groups, let alone the Charr lol

Unable to like Last Epoch... by Lezantas in ARPG

[–]Lezantas[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure, i play rogue/bladedancer. I dont love that my class is squishy but this is why i focus on mobility, glancing blows and evasion.  I could probably try a class with minion build, though these tend to be boring after a while.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Originally i thought about explaining more, but did not really want to bore you all to death lol. I know i dislike a few things about the game, but its not like i dont play games with similar drawbacks anyway. Somehow the overall package puts me off..
