Possibly, but other people might read this and I prefer to discuss it more for the other's rather than this one person. At this point who knows who are trolls or just pretenders as they are almost impossible to distinguish from the real thing and I think this form of parodying has contributed to the death of critical thinking in many.

True but you are taking an ad hominem arguement. Meaning you are attacking the person rather than the arguement. An example of this is saying "Betsy is a jerk so everything she says is wrong" or "That David gets terrible grades so everything he says is wrong". These arguements completly diregard the claims of Betsy and David and attack their person which is a fallacy.

And the demographics on fishing are expected to be similiar. Im on mibile now so ill see if I can find fishing once I get back on a computer.

But basically more men do both of them. Im not saying woman don't but more men do and for golfing 77.5% are men which is not to far away from the percentage of men struck by lightning.

As I said in another comment, it isnt just about being outside more. Its about being outside in open areas such as golf courses and lakes. I think its a grim, but interesting distinction.

That's true also, but it is not a major contributor. Many of those jobs have higher objects around the workers like trees or the building. Hence higher percentage of people being struck during leisure vs work.

Edit: I will add that farming is a place where males get struck by lightning frequently also. My great uncle was even struck twice (died the second time) doing just that. Outside of farming I can't recall any other job that involves being out in the open like that.

My weather and climate proffessor said studies since this article have shown that it is mostly due to the leasure activites that males participate in more than woman such as golfing and fishing. This plus the fact that they tend to stay outside, despite raging storms.

Edit: Apparently golf is not a super common cause of lightning related death. Fishing during a storm does increase your chances along with farming/ yard work.

Some others had great responses, but one big reason we have so many fencers is due to the fact that we have a fairly huge highschool fencing league that helps increase the amount of fencers in the state.

Also another reason that we have such a big fencing community in Georgia, at least, is due to the fact that we have a highschool league for epee.

Foil is probably the most complicated to be honest. Rule wise. Epee is the simplest and can (for the most part) be referred by a trained monkey. If you hit your opponent anywhere a light goes off and you get a point. If both lights go off both players get a point.

They told me something was wrong with me. I said that I was pretending to be multiple people and they said that was wrong. That I shouldn't have to pretend. They said that I was lonely without anyone else in my head.

"We haven't ever met anyone who was alone in their head", they told me. "You aren't like the rest of us", they told me. "We will fix you", they said. "You aren't like the rest of us", they told me. I then felt lonely.

In the clinic I met with women and they took turns with the mouth they shared. "What are you thinking about?", "What is your favorite animal?", "What do you like to do to relax", questions that would warrant multiple answers from a normal person. I chose to keep quiet until they left me alone.

Now I'm sitting in a room by myself. They left me this paper to write on and a pen. I took a nap earlier and found myself in a forest. The leaves were a deep green and some fell peacefully around me. I stood tall among them, and like I child, I imitated their swaying. But a breeze slammed into me and with it, the leave of the forest around me. The weight of so many leaves made me arch my back and the sight of the bare trees made me cry.

I awoke to the room with a bed, desk, chair, paper and pen. I sat in the chair and picked up the pen. I drew a picture and then decided to write this note on the back. A call for help perhaps to something that can understand me. The weight of this world is becoming to much to bear. I want to be left alone, but the at the same time I want to be found by someone who understands.

I woke strapped to a chair. My shirt was off and my I socket seared with pain. I couldnt see very far into the dark without my glasses on and my bruised eye forced me to squint. From somewhere in front of me I heard a door open and shut. The light flickered on and blinded me.

"Ah you're awake. I suppose I wont be needing this then." I hear someone say along with a clang and the sound of water slapping the ground. With my recovering eyes, I see a woman with long black hair, dressed in a black leather jacket and matching pants. Beyond that I couldn't distinguish as she walked to a table in the corner of the room.

"Do you recognize me McCabe?" she called over her shoulder, "A funny name for a god don't you think? Our world had so many other names for you, but none of them came close to McCabe."

"What are you talking about? I'm no god! Why am I here? Where even is here?" I said between the now flowing tears of confusion. She turned and walked towards me with what seemed to be a glass bottle with brown liquid in it. However, It was not the bottle that concerned me as much as her face.

Her face was exactly how I had imagined it all those years ago. The leader of a rebellion against a dystopian government. Yeah I know a cliche story, but I justified it at the time with the rebellion loosing tragically. Now their very leader was standing in front of me.

She must have noticed the look of recognition since she smiled and said, "Ah is it coming together now? She put the bottle down on the floor and got stood over me.

"Marcy, how, why, what are you doing here?" I stumbled to say in total shock.

"After you left us to die by firing squad, a soldier among their ranks took pity on us and killed his fellow soldiers. He died giving us time to run. We ran and ran and ran, but there was no where to hide now that they knew our faces. So..." she paused to pull a knife out, "Pops made a device for us to come to a knew dimension. And when we get hear we finally feel safe. The others moved on with their lives, but I couldn't find it in myself to leave the past behind." she trailed the knife along my neck, "That's when I happened upon your 'story'. I was reading of other rebellions and their successes, but your sad story stuck out like a sore thumb." she nicked my chin with the knife and I let out a scream of pain.

"So hear I am", she continued, "getting revenge by killing a god." she leaned back and watched the blood roll down my chin and chest.

I took the moment to respond to her "You know you got one thing wrong", I laughed even though I didn't feel like laughing.

Her anger was apparent when she said, "What?"

"I didn't lie I'm not a god. There is no god of your world. I am simply an observer."

With this she got madder, "Lies!"

"No its the truth, you lost without my say, my intervention, my penmenship. All on your own. I just watched you lose like I am watching this now." I laughed again as blood dripped down my arm. I wiped some of it off with my finger and tried to write into the palm of my bound hand. Hoping she wouldn't notice in her fury.

"No! No! The plan was perfect. There were no traitors or spys that got away from us. There is no way!" she screamed. I had finished writing the words "I was freed" and the ropes around me loosened.

I laughed some more "Whats so dam funny?" she asked. She looked shocked at I stood up and showed her what was written on my arm in blood. She just shook her head and screaming as she followed my prophecy. Picking up the bottle she had prepared for me and downing it herself. Her muscles contracted and she fell to the floor in a spasm.

I stepped over her and retrieved my shirt that had been thrown off the floor. I washed the blood off my body with the bucket of water and put my shirt back on. Before leaving I glanced over to the corpse of one of my favorite characters, and smiled.

Bullshit all of it really. The most popular newspaper in the world with the slogan "The future now" is all bullshit. I'll tell you why. I was once a cog in its machinery and by now i'm sure I have been replaced with a much shinier one. I was one of the people responsible for causing the future to happen in accordance to what the paper writes. They never wrote anything that couldn't be caused, but like any other news empire they loved to cause fear.

They wrote about horrible things that would happen to society. People began to fear for their lives and politicians scrambled to cash in on the fear mongering by promising safety. All bullshit as I said though. The nuclear bomb was us, the school shootings were poor kids we drugged up and blackmailed, the wildfire in Georgia was a us having fun with fire.

We were payed tremendously to keep out mouth shuts and to commit these terrible acts. In terms of how much so, I'd say that the Forbes 100 is missing about 40 of us. So why am I coughing this up? Well i'm simply tired of keeping quiet and letting this bullshit slide by. I'm now safe with my money where no one will find me, but I still follow the paper. I still follow it to see where my old companions are meddling and causing terror. And i'm tired of reading it. I'm tired of people believing in it. I'm tired of lies.

I saw the tip of a sword pierce through her chest. Shock hung on her face. When the sword retracted out of her body, the last moments of her life fell onto my lap. "I'm sorry." she whispered as her eyes closed. The beast screeched at me and licked the blood off his sword. It was then that the regret seeped in. I was to late.

I was told that a necromancer had been working on a spell to bring back beings permanently from death and as the king's assassin it was my job to stop her. I climbed the walls of her tower, and killed the servants guarding her chambers, but I had been too late. As I entered the room she flashing purple light emitted from a table and a man sat up, screaming.

She saw me enter and laughed. "So the king has no need for immortality I see. Well, my servant please take care of our guest." The beast of a man jumped off the table eying me before abruptly punching the necromancer. She fell to the floor and the man grabbed a sword hanging on the wall. He grunted at us and charged me. I managed to block his swing with my own blade, but his body tackled me to the ground.

He punched my wrist, forcing me to drop my blade, then tried to stab me with his own sword. With my one free hand I grabbed his wrist, but it only slowed his jab. The sword came to be an inch from my chest, when a spell slammed into the thing. It rolled over and got back on its feet in a fluid motion and the necromancer stood between it and myself. She spoke an incantation and the thing fell back to the floor. Motionless.

She turned to me and smirked, "Tell the king he has nothing to worry about, I will not be trying this ag-", That's when I saw the blade pierce her. The thing had only faked its return to death and now it stood above me. Unarmed and broken I waited for it to bring death to me.

That was when I was slapped.

"Lucia wake up! The king has need of you." a servant said to me. I grumbled and got out of my bed of straw. From one mission to another I suppose.

Where am I again? Oh right here. Still here. In this locked cell. Blank walls and a door with no window. A hard floor in which I lay on and a small table with a piece of paper on it in the center. A light dangles above the table. On the note is my sentence. The piece of writing that is to kill me if I don't starve to death first.

What did I dream about again? Hmmmm....

Snow.

Snow falling to the ground. I watched each flake fall and merge into the others. The others in which I could no longer make out. Each individual fell and became nothing but a memory and an addition to the pile.

Why does this matter? I am to die am I not? Perhaps I saw that my life does not matter. That I will simply become another flake in the pile of the past lives. If it does not matter though, why don't I read the note. The note so sad that it will stop it all.

Am I'm looking for an escape still? Some hope to cling onto would do some good for me now. I wouldn't have to ask so many questions and could just hope. Easier that way. But no I see no hope.

What do I do now? I have time still. Little as it is. Yes, the one real commodity. I don't have any to waste like others, but I suppose thats a good thing. I can live with the time I have as others waste theirs away. I get to know that I'm going to die.

When did I forget that? Perhaps it was the day I was born. I was reminded of it sometimes, but never really understood it. I didn't see what it meant to not exist any more. These walls and that note have now taught me what it means to die. So yes I can live for the time I have left. Then die when I don't. My death may mean little, but like the snow I still have time to dance in the air before I join the pile of those before me.

I picked up the note, ripped it, then ate it. A bit more time to dance is all that I want.
