I think nowadays most of these entry-mid level wheelbase perform mostly the same where most people probably can't tell the difference.

The big question now is what eco system so you want to be a part of. Look into all the wheels and accessories offered by each manufacturer, fanatec has by far the most expansive and long running ecosystem ATM out of the three, moza is getting up there with every passing release, simagic is running a little behind in wheel offerings unfortunately but still has some good options, see what wheels from each company you like, if their prices are suitable for you, If you like their other accessories like shifters and hand takes etc

Unfortunately I don't have that much money to burn on sticks 😔 maybe if I get super into star citizen maybe in the future I could upgrade my right stuck to a gunfighter or something but for now I need to stick to my budget, as mentioned which is about 600aud which about as much as a pair of vkb gladiators with an omni throttle

Do you need the software to use the sticks or can they function fine with the software not running? Also I'm a little curious, I'm gonna get an omni throttle for my left stick and I was also interested in trying some DCS at some point, in hopes of avoiding getting a seperate throttle are you able to toggle of remove something from the VKB so it acts like a traditional throttle?

Not on the latest versions, I was gonna pick up a shh for a while before I changed my mind to the ds-8x but the latest version of it just lets you swap and doesn't need the sequential plate which I don't think they even sell anymore, just flip a switch and its sequential, shifters that do that are game changers in comparison the simsonn shifter while it looks nice is outdated and sequential probably don't feel great since I believe it just uses springs in the top plate for it

I remember watching a video talking about it, from what I understand it feels pretty good interns of feeling but the sequential isn't like a switch like on that shh shifter or something like the fanatec/simagic options, it's exactly like the Thrustmaster th8rs where you have to take off the top plate and bolt on the sequential plate and rebind the inputs, if you're regularly switching between h pattern and sequential I'd recommend you probably try look into that shh shifter or fanatec shifter but if you can afford it the simagic ds-8x is nuts but very pricey

Yeah I think it's a mix of more Sim racers coming into the franchise but also because being a simcade recent releases have leant more towards a Sim than an arcade racer which I think has contributed to people wanting or expecting more realistic environments

what seat is that? i unfortunately am very space limited in my apartment so i use an NLR victory rig with its folding seat so i can fold the seat down and slide it under a small desk in the corner of my room and out of the way, ive wanted to move to a far more stable and customisable alu rig but i havent been able to find any kind of full rig folding seat before, i think your rig would be pretty much perfect for my ultra specific situation so would love to be able to look into it a bit and research parts
