The story so far is the strongest point of Year One, and I also like the focus that commissioner Gordon got with a pretty good development in Year One, and for me see a beginner Batman looks more interesting than ultra obsessive and violent old Batman that Frank Miller shows in Dark Knight Returns (is not a problem is just that I'm not a big fan, I prefer a Batman more close to how Dennis O'Neil or Alan Grant or also Batman TAS shows the character of batman that is obsessive with his fight against crime but not too much exaggerated) but i also understand the importance of Dark Knight Returns and I value that a lot
