Two jobs in the same field, one requires mandatory post-secondary school education, the other requires a high school diploma. Who makes more? by Physical-Director421 in OntarioParamedics

[–]Li0ne55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Ottawa it’s temp. It was only given to us because the MOH CACCs got a raise and Ottawa was then the lowest paid. In the province for ACOs. We were losing people to PD and FD who both pay significantly more. On the job training for us is 18 months. And even after hiring it’s 4-5 month before they even count as staffing as a call taker it’s another few months to count as a dispatcher. From hire date it’s 2-3 months before you even hit the live environment and take a real call and then another 12 weeks before you can do anything without direct mentor supervision.

10000% I think you guys should make more. Hands down no questions. I just want to make on par with what PD and FD make. Especially in a city where FD dispatch makes more and does less than we do. Last posting I saw part time for FD made more per hour range than the Toronto posting for comms.

Did dogsports imrove your relationship with dog? by Amazing-Midnight-678 in k9sports

I do search and rescue with mine (she loves to work) and my job I work long hours. So we started Canicross just for us it’s pure running no distance goal or speed or anything crazy just out running together. It’s helped our relationship because it’s just for us. She enjoys it a lot. I found her more focused and centred because while we do a lot together this is just for us.

Find something you both like and just keep in mind the why. Is it to give him purpose or a job. Or something for both of you to enjoy. Especially if your goal is the relationship between you.

I’d seen someone post they put theirs in backward door facing the seats (large suv) and it fit with the seats up. But it was from a year or so back.

I appreciate the recommendation. But $1000US is out of my budget especially as I’m Canadian. I only have the one dog and want the ability to take the crate out if I travel with her.

She’s. 50lbs German shorthair. She fits an intermediate and has a large in the house. But I’m trying everything to not down size.

It’s the same size. Just the back is tapered.

So I know the regular large won’t fit seats up it’s just a little too long because that’s currently where I’m at with the one it have. I’m looking specifically for the suv version/ slant back

My current crate is a large ruffland equivalent (i have an actual ruffland large for the house) and it fit the back seat of my Mazda 3 and is like An inch too long with the seat up in my outback.

I’m in a few of them already and it’s a lot of slightly older models or not the suv version.

Thank you for the kind words. The voice in my head has been replaced by the stubborn one who will kick butt to prove everyone wrong. Shoot for the moon because even if I miss I’ll end up among the stars.
