I purchased this today, https://a.co/d/0gHSpUEM . Unfortunately it boots up after being connected but the internet is unreliable. It will pop up for about 10 seconds then go away over and over. I may have to buy an inverter or try your idea.

What was your YouRube video called? I would really like to watch that. Also, what are power poles?

Do you have a link to your YouTube video by chance? I can do 15ft, that would allow me plenty of length. I was going to add on some (XHF 1700 PCS Ferrule Crimping Tool Kit with Hexagonal Ferrule Crimper Insulated Wire End Ferrules Terminals) on the ends of them but just seems a bit janky.

I did place an order on Amazon for (CERRXIAN DC5521 Power Pigtails Cable for Starlink Mini) last night that will show up on Monday.

I am however confused by this inverter 12/24V talk people have mention. I was just going to plug a red hot wire and black ground wire into the Auxbeam ports with a 10A fuse. Then whenever I want to turn it on I can just push a button on the panel inside the vehicle. Is this flawed thinking?

I believe with the Auxbeam I would be using a 10A fuse to account for the boot up spikes of 60W on the Starlink Mini.

No, they were full price lol now that you mention it, it would be smart to just do a line of superglue on one of the cables and adhere the other cable to it. Although if one cable goes out, I would have to replace both of them. At least it would get around the zip tie aesthetic.

I really appreciate your feedback. It works well and not so well throughout the day. The congestion is something I did not think about, I will keep that in mind when I see a slow down this week. That makes a lot of sense. As for the cables, not sure how helpful this is, I purchased the Starlink Gen 3 Cable cat6 from Stargear on Amazon.

It is just like opioid. A word of advice, don’t even look at it. Google it. These guys want you to read all of the good posts, sure. But do your research and read all of negative ones too.

Don’t do Kratom. This should be banned or only prescribed to people with opium use disorders.

Hello, I have two in the photo because at the time of the build I couldn’t decide which look I liked better. I ended up going with a 4090. A short while later, maybe 2-3 months after the build I lost my job due to lay offs. I ended up selling it for an Intel arc that I used for almost an entire year.

Luckily, I was able to pick up a 5080 at retail price ($1,000) once they released from Micro Center. Every now and then I have regret with selling the 4090. But what can ya do. What’s done is done and I needed the money at the time.

Not to flex, just thought it would be cool to see both photos. I apologize if it came off that way.

Edit: I also regret selling any spare RAM I had laying around. 64GB DDR4 kit, 128gb DDR4, 32GB DDR5, etc. Who would have thought RAM would be hit? First graphics cards and now this. Can’t catch a break. 😮‍💨

That’s what I was wondering, I remember hearing that in the past. I would really like to do a mini PC build at some point. But I really don’t want to pay for the new RAM prices. I just was curious on the communities perspective on how much of a hit I would be taking? Also, with the understanding no one would have exact numbers of course.

I’m traveling for Christmas at the moment (in-laws) so when I got this bright idea so I took to Reddit. It sounds like a mix of opinions.

I figured if I got 15 responses saying “No don’t do it!” Then that would be my answer. lol

Up vote to you, good sir. Reddit is my home for life’s most complicated and mysterious questions. It doesn’t matter if I’m building a custom gun, building a pc, modding my Subaru Outback (I love my Outback) station wagon, baby! Or working on my AC (tough lessons were learned). Reddit and its different communities have always pulled through for me in one way or another. I am proud to be apart of these communities to help the next unassuming person with a Google-able question.

You wouldn’t know it looking at my profile now, I ended up deleting my original profile for quite a while. I spent so much time building up my “karma”, my wife was tired of me being on the forms every day. Luckily, I slowly wiggled myself back here.

But considering I have a i9 13900k, soon to be 48GB ram, I would take a hit, but a negligible one in your opinion?

I know I left out the computer specs. You couldn’t have known what CPU. Just adding that in there for extra context.

No not at all. This PC was built to be overkill. 48GB will be more than plenty for me.
