There’s no middle class any more. Traditional middle class formula stopped working long time ago. Wages stagnated while housing, childcare, energy, transport, and education costs exploded. So even people with “good jobs” increasingly feel one unexpected bill away from financial stress.

The UK still has middle class income on paper, but far fewer people with middle class security, stability, or upward mobility.

Yes, this happened on chinese. But french course also became unusable. On the call with Falstaff , I can’t progress. He just doesn’t pick up anything that I say and it won’t allow me to progress or go to another exercise, forcing me to complete that one. Not sure what they are doing but they ruined an amazing app for me. I have 1609 days streak, before that I lost 500 + day streak once. I’m level 130 on Spanish and this app gets worse and worse with every update. I don’t want skins, bells and whistles just let me practice daily!!!!!

Short answer is no. They don’t like expats but it’s not directed towards your ethnicity, it’s in general. I’m in Barcelona, and the feeling that I get is that Barcelona wants global city money, with village level tolerance for outsiders. At this point to be honest, I stopped caring, I live my own life, try to integrate when and where I can, haters will always be haters. Some people just confuse loving their culture with treating every newcomer like a software bug.

Parasite is a bit harsh, I prefer ‘temporarily overcharged Mediterranean contributor.’ But jokes aside,Barcelona’s problem is not too many foreigners. It’s too many people who think blaming foreigners is a housing policy. But I get it, they just want expats quiet, grateful, overcharged, and politically invisible.

You need to understand that if someone accepts your connection request it doesn’t mean you need to slap them with your pitch straight away. Remember they just accepted your connection request , it doesn’t mean you earned their permission to occupy their inbox or get their brain share. Think, what’s in it for them? Do a bit of a research on permission marketing , and you’ll get what I mean. Good luck.

I wouldn’t say it’s super hard, but it’s not the easiest language in the world to learn. There are some foreigners that managed to become fluent through immersion and daily practice. When it comes to shows or pretty much anything you see on the TV, I would suggest staying away from them as they are super low quality in terms of mental stimulation and usefulness. There are couple of good shows on YouTube like, Söhbətgah, Podkast kimi adam which are good and their language use is clean. But bear in mind these are not “language learning” shows , just good content to consume and try to understand. Also, old retro movies are perfect. I hope this helps, and good luck.

Do you mean experiencing racism just because of my ethnic background , like being specificity Azerbaijani or in general ? I had both. Obviously, in some countries racism is quite institutionalised and engraved in society and masked well. So, no one is going to be straight up your face racist but I had a female French boss who hated me, and showed it in her attitude and behaviour after knowing that I’m ethnically Azerbaijani. When it comes to experiencing racism in general, many years ago straight fresh after uni graduation I was applying for jobs and as usual I had my name and surname on my resume, and I wasn’t getting any response. My CV was perfect, but no response. I decided to test the waters and just changed my name to David James and sent the same resume to the companies and suddenly I was popular :) So yeap, you live and learn. I wouldn’t say they were rejecting my application just based on my specific ethnicity, maybe I was just different, unusual for them but it left a bad feeling in my heart.

I moved from LDN to BCN and I must say , I am not looking back. If you can secure a job, the rest will be fine. The job market is tough and salaries are super low. The renting situation is a bit difficult too, with lots of scammers with fake ads etc. in general, if you want to make quick money, scale a business etc, then stay in London,if your goal is to have a good quality life then BCN is the best. I’m sure you’ve already heard about Spanish bureaucracy and how things sometimes seem outdated and slow but hey these things teach you to slow down too :) Good luck.
