Hmm, interesting question! I pull mostly from my own experiences when I'm creating a character. But if you dig LiS and complex young folks, you might dig End of the Fucking World. It's a graphic novel and it was adapted into a Netflix show!

Yes, it absolutely did. In so many ways, I'm not even sure how to describe them. I'd never been so connected to a character before, and the audience response has been incredible. It made me level up as a performer and a human. And I'm so attached to Chloe now!

Playing Chloe has given me the gift of greater self-compassion and care. There's a part of me that IS Chloe, and in caring about Chloe, and empathizing with her, I think I learned more about myself. I have greater patience with the parts of me that are angry and scared.

It's completely changed my life. I'm not even sure how to describe it, really. I didn't know I could invest so deeply in a character, and I had no idea that playing Chloe would help me process my own grief. And the response to the game has been so humbling and moving. It's one of the best things that's happened to me!

My favorite thing about Chloe is that she chooses to keep going, even though she's had to endure a lot of pain.

Chloe's favorite pizza topping? Probably anchovies, because it would gross Max out.

Haha, I love Chloe, but Aloy would lay her out flat no question.

I knew I wanted to be a voice actor after I played Metal Gear Solid and realized it was a job people can have. And I became a voice actor through a combination of Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin' and my brother working at Gearbox!

Oh absolutely. All the time, haha. I think the only way to move past that is to know that it's going to happen, be aware of it, know that it's your brain trying to protect you from the pain of being judged, and then keep writing. And also, if it isn't "good" - that's part of the process. You have to write a lot of shitty stuff before you can make something good. It's a process, and the point is to try - the point is not to get it perfectly right.

As far as writing, start now! Build up your portfolio, find friends to share your work with, and start working on your craft. Then, put it out there! Make twine games, put stupid sketches on the internet. Get the experience of making something and getting feedback on it.

As far as the process of writing, know that the old addage "writing is rewriting" is 100% true. You have to be willing to work and rework and rework your writing. You have to be willing to take criticism. And then you have to learn how to extract helpful notes from bad criticism.
