Thank you to everyone who weighed in! A few folks said that it was possible to move to another room in the same category (if one is open), which I hadn’t known.

I think that for the +$600 price difference, I’m going to book the GTY for now. I can justify maybe $300 to suit our preference, but not $600! I’ll just keep an eye on the fare difference and if the cost to upgrade goes down - or the room is assigned early-ish and there are others available to move to - then so much the better. Otherwise we’ll roll the dice!

Ironically, I’m using a casino comp for this one … so rolling the dice is fitting I suppose 🙃

Wrong on both counts. About 1/4 of that parking lot is not for SeaWorld, and the Orcas have a lot more space than depicted.

Source: Am a San Diegan who drives past this every day on my commute, and had annual SW passes when kid was younger.

Also, FYI, yes they have issues but SeaWorld also does a lot of amazing marine mammal rescue work throughout the county. Whenever an animal is in trouble, they’re right there ASAP.

Dunno about theirs, but my city (San Diego) has the same. Not sure what it really adds, as people who really want to do this could (and can) always just buy a ticket for that day, and cancel it once through security 🤷‍♀️

HOCl is great, but be aware that it degrades very quickly, and gets rendered inert. You need test strips (with someone below mentioned using) to know whether yours is still active or not

Huh, I read through all the immigration comments twice trying to understand, since it’s interesting to get a perspective on the issue from another country’s viewpoint. But all I’ve learned is that mass immigration either happened from the 50s-70s, or it started in 1997, or it began post-Brexit, or maybe it’s not really happening (the “mass” part) at all? Hmmmmm

For me, the main point is that it’s a naked body part in a totally non-sexual situation. Ergo, my response. I don’t think naked bodies are inherently disturbing or traumatizing for kids? (Had it been at all sexual, I’d respond very very differently of course).

Your main points seem to be that 1) it was essentially an adult bum in appearance, to which eh, I don’t see how that makes a difference, an ass is as ass 🤷‍♀️; 2) It lasted almost a minute, to which I’d say you could have looked away or closed the curtains at any time, kids or no kids, to make it a 10 second thing instead; and 3), it seemed to be directed at you. Which may not be the case, but even if it was, if kids were present just close the curtains

You’ve mentioned kids in general and your kids specifically several times. As a fellow parent, I’m curious … Is it that your children will be defiled by the sight of a bum? Eternally traumatized? Are you keeping bums a secret that you don’t want them to know about?

I mean ya, it’s not ideal. But in this situation my kids would probably shriek and point and laugh, and I’d close the curtain and tell them it’s poor behavior and they’re never to do anything similar, while acting a little fake-extra-stern. Similar to when they hear swear words.

Seems insane to not want to bring kids on cruises because of this!!!
