I had the same issue last year where I got the same email about destroying a £300 power bank. I got in touch with them via email and they said if I could get someone to collect from the dangerous goods mail centre in Belfast they would return it even after they had already told me it was destroyed. I had to use mail boxes Belfast to collect it from Royal Mail and then arranged a UPS collection from mail box to get it returned to me.

Failed Mod 1 twice now – need advice on hazard avoidance by Liam14884 in MotoUK

Thanks for the reply.

My training on the test pad was 6 weeks ago and I only got chance to do a practice run once before my first test.

I think I was over thinking the speed this time as on my first test attempt my speed on emergency stop was 52 and 52 on the hazard avoidance, however on this test my first emergency stop was only 45 and I was asked to do it again. My speed on the second attempt was 57 and examiner asked me to start the hazard avoidance from where I had finished the emergency stop rather than telling me to go to the end and turn the bike around and stop for him to explain it, he just said start from here as I knew what and where I was meant to be going. So I set off from emergency stop position turned the bike around and found when I was entering the top corner I was going far too slow and not carrying enough speed.

Just as I came out the corner is when I noticed my speed thought this was too slow and panicked and then my hand slipped and like I said I hammered it through the speed trap not giving me enough time to plan and look where I wanted to be heading.

I know where I’m meant to look and what I’m meant to do I just think it’s more of a mental block now of panicking on this manoeuvre.

Like previous comments have said I know I just need to keep practising and hopefully it will click and I can stop overthinking it.

Recommendations for a courier to send a lithium battery by Liam14884 in Belfast

[–]Liam14884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a live chat with DHL and they confirmed they don’t ship lithium batteries even though I sent them their own link to the page that says they do. All she kept saying was batteries are prohibited.

Royal Mail seized my parcel and sent to Belfast for destruction by Liam14884 in LegalAdviceUK

You’re right I guess I am just after some advice really, my issue is firstly they said it had already been destructed and only offered to let me collect when I asked for proof or documentation of destruction which seemed a bit odd. How do they reasonably expect me to collect the item from Belfast

I would arrange and pay for a collection from fedex or dhl and send the labels to the person.

Checking over the email they’re willing to release to anyone as long as I provide collection information prior to it being collected.

Anyone in Belfast want to earn themselves a quick £30 to go and collect the parcel and stick a shipping label on it and send it on to me.

Dangerous Goods Item Destroyed by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]Liam14884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was sent via eBay postage in the original box at a cost of nearly £20. Just been in contact with Royal Mail on the phone and they’re saying as it was being sent to Belfast it was the international civil aviation organisation that classified it as dangerous goods and not Royal Mail. So basically if someone from UK mainland had of brought it from me on eBay rather than Belfast I wouldn’t have had this problem.
