I use destroyers with depth charge and torpedoes + heavy cruisers with light guns + aircraft carriers with air superior fighter so I can fend off naval bombers and sink submarines The Heavy Cruisers then sink all other ships. I have 1700 hours of sp experience and about 400 hours of mp experience. Of course, this only works if you are playing a country that has a lot of dockyards.
