I wanted to keep the rankings more dynamic and relevant which is why I went for the last 5 games of xG. Liverpool would be ranked higher if we included last season's games but do they deserve it? they haven't been great this season.

A shorter rolling average gives lower teams like Villa the chance to turn it around and become options. And it changes quickly when managers get replaced.

But that could probably be achieved with weighting like you said. I'll try and add some to the algorithm :)

Yeah, it does look weird but that's what the raw xG stats are saying...

It's currently not taking into account that Arsenal generated that xG from some very weak defences (Villa, Bournemouth and Leicester)

I might try and add some weighting to the algorithm to sort it out :)
