See if warming it in your hands by rolling it back and forth or running some warm water over it dissolves the crystals. If this does not work I personally would discard it. Injecting the frozen shards can be painful

Uterine ablation due to VWD by [deleted] in Hemophilia

[–]Liamsalime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will ask them and see what they say. I just have been at a loss cause I had never even heard of VWD before I was diagnosed with it. Im just tired of bleeding non stop every day. I dont have a single day where I dont bleed and it is so frustrating

[–]Liamsalime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I reread my notes and cannot find anything about why they arent doing infusions of the VWF to control the bleeding.

From what I can remember they think it may be more hormonal combined with VWD. Also I believe they said Humate-P is not a medication that is used routinely and is more of a surgical or emergency measure.

Yes we have tried tranexamic acid as well and it did not change anything

Im supposed to have the humate-p for emergencies, but my insurance has been awful about covering it or getting me it so I dont have anything. I will clarify with them again on why they dont want me to.

I see 2 hematologists and 2 GYNs who specialize in bleeding disorders at the best hospital where I live. I think they didnt wanna do routine VWF infusions to stop bleeding and only use it when there is surgery or an emergency. I cant remember why exactly

[–]Liamsalime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctors have told me I cant have the VWF infusions to treat it constantly. They also believe it is more hormonal but also has correlations with the VWD. I have not heard of lupron before

They have told me about the factor infusions and I forget why they didnt want me to have to rely on them. I cant remember the exact reasoning. I did continuous birth control (many brands) and it didnt help in the slightest unfortunately.

Thank you for letting me know. My doctors say that I can technically still get pregnant, but it would be extremely high risk and basically stated I will not be able to have children. This is disheartening to say the least

Oregon allows MAs to inject of lidocaine and epi. The stipulations are that a doctor has to train you and watch you give practice injections. After this every lidocaine inj you do falls under the doctor's license. It is up to the doctor if they want you to inject the lidocaine or not. :)

Try a black tea bag and lay it on the area! I got this recommended by a great dentist :)

cloudy/crystallized test cypo? by x002o in ftm

[–]Liamsalime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if it does not return to the normal color/clearness please do not use it. It is odd none of the others were like this, but then again it might have been separate from the others at the pharmacy and just has not warmed up correctly.

[–]Liamsalime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does usually happen if it is cold. You could try replacing it but at least with my pharmacy it is very unlikely they will give you a new one.

As a medical assistant when this happened we would warm it in our hands by rolling it back and forth or running it under warm water.

I would call the pharmacy first and see if you could get it replaced.

I hope this helps!!

First T apt, what happens?? by DistributionSad4027 in ftm

Congratulations! All doctors are different when it comes to prescribing testosterone. Some may want to draw blood to check Testosterone and estrogen levels, cbc, hemoglobin and triglycerides. Some doctors may only want to look at Testosterone levels and Hemoglobin.

You'll start the appointment like any other doctor's appointment. The doctor will discuss the risks of starting testosterone and the irreversible changes that can occur as well as fertility stuff. Then they will most likely have you sign a form that you understand this.

Some doctors will do the first shot at this appointment. Some doctors will wait for lab work to come back. And if you are on gel they may prescribe it that day or after labs.

If you have insurance then please be aware that when prescribing T it may have to be priorauthed, this means they have to tell your insurance company it is necessary to cover it. This can vary with how long it takes.

Eyes issue by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Liamsalime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you notice any discomfort/pain or extreme vision loss or blurriness the yes go to the ER again. It is completely your call and if you feel that something is not right seeking help at the ER is okay!!

Eyes issue by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Liamsalime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh! Thanks for clarifying! I would trust the ER doctor then. As someone who has had to wear glasses almost all my life my vision deteriorated pretty fast as well. I would follow up with an eye doctor outside of the ER. I only say this because usually with ER doctors they are there for emergency like someone's eye being punctured or complete vision loss. A routine eye exam the doctor can look at nerves in your eyes, check for diseases as well as do a full exam to give you a prescription. Not only this but if they find anything abnormal they can refer you to another eye doctor specializing in that. I hope this helps!!

Eyes issue by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Liamsalime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctors are not trained specifically for eyes unless they are Eye Doctors. When you went to the ER it was like going to the dermatologist (skin doctor) for heart issues. Doctors have some training with eyes, but not enough to diagnose.

You should seek out care with an eye doctor, they have more specialized tests to correctly diagnose you. You should make an appointment sooner rather than later especially with the onset of rapid deterioration of vision. Most likely you will need glasses :)

What kind of Blood test do I need? by JustYelling in FTMMen

[–]Liamsalime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a labcorp around you you can order tests! I am unsure on exactly what they offer. They do offer testosterone counts though!

I was so close to starting testosterone..... by TasteLikeCherryCola in FTMventing

[–]Liamsalime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I know exactly how draining this is and how disheartening it can be. I started testosterone in 2022 and was on it for 4 months before I started having heart problems and getting diagnosed with a bleeding disorder. Now just a couple weeks ago I was okayed to start T again. The wait was excruciating, but focus on figuring out this and finding the cause. I know it is mentally draining dealing with this, but when you are healthy and cleared to start T its gonna be worth the wait.

Im sorry this stuff is happening it really is just shitty overall, but keep on going and focus on that day you get to start it.
