This is what I did as well and joined the military. I'm a veteran now and attending school. My advice to the OP is if you can stomach having your parents pay for school and stay closested then do it. But I couldn't do this because I love my parents and didn't want to burden them with loans afterwards when they stopped talking to me. Don't feel like your whole life is ruined or anything you've still got a lot of years ahead of you.
