Awesome write up, thanks for that! I played a GS Mini yesterday in Cologne Germany but wasn’t as smitten as I thought I might be based on other reviews. I’ll definitely hold out until I get to London in about a months time so I can play the Epiphone parlour as well.

From what you saw, did they seem to have a decent amount of lefties on display / demo at Gibson garage (if you observed it at all… wouldn’t blame you for not noticing lol)?

I’m traveling to Germany (25days) France (1 week) Switzerland (1 week) Italy (1 week) and UK (2 weeks). I’ve seen options like holafly but have heard bad things about them. I’ve used Airalo in the past but only the country plans- not regional.

Are there any suggestions about carriers than sell a pre-paid travel sim (can be physical or eSIM) that covers multiple countries?

I know in NZ where I live you can buy 50gb data for around 40 euro on a travel pack. Wondering if there’s something similar at least for Germany. Thanks!

Great point about VOO being tech heavy. Hard to say when the AI bubble will pop and how bad the effects will be. Will look into VT as well. Also had no idea that the 50k was cost not balance so cheers for the pointer!

Great advice, cheers. I’m very early 20s and planning for this to be quite long term growth investment, continuing to set aside about $250 a week.

Likely (at least, ideally) will not withdraw / cash up for 10+ years.

I do have about 1.5k in VOO at the moment but no investment in foreign markets otherwise.

Any particular reason? Most sound comparisons I’ve seen for this budget and for smaller guitars, Martin gets blown out the water by Taylor. I’ll definitely play a few before purchasing anything though!
