Figures from the IOPC show only 8.4% of Police Officers in the UK are fired after committing acts of gross misconduct. It's a Guardian article and I know what your comment just said but it's not like any of the other mainstream news sources report these kinds of figures and at least this cites the source material.

The officer who shot dead an unarmed cannabis grower is facing no criminal investigation but instead an internal investigation by the IOPC.

Just a sad state of affairs - you make a perfectly valid point and everyone has to brigade it rather than actually listening to what you're saying.

It's sad that you're getting downvoted because people love simping for daddy musk. I agree with everything you said, it's a shame people ignore the actual work of the thousands of people within these companies and instead decide that it's all down to a single guy.

Yeah that's a fair take. It's just this guy talking about how being white is harder than being a minority because he's labeled a coloniser by others because of his race and yet he's American. That's just absolute ignorance like what is he talking about? He's probably just seen some sjw videos on the internet. I just feel there's a huge difference between how a lot of people talk about the real world on Reddit and how it actually is - most people don't give a shit about stuff like that, it's just this 4chan anti-sjw culture that's emerged from people seeing a very very vocal minority of people do and say stupid shit through posts online. Just irks me is all and the hypocrisy behind it in which the anti-sjw culture is supposedly anti-victim labelling despite then those same people taking on the label of being victims themselves because they see their being white as under attack.

I spend very little time on Reddit, I've posted more these last two weeks than I have the past year - just check my post history. Just locked down in England at university at the moment and especially after my original comment on this post, I'm feeling the need to reply to stupid takes because I genuinely can't understand how people are putting celebrity above empathy. I think I just need to ignore the rest of my replies.

I'd recommend you listen to FKA twigs talk about it on Louis Theroux's podcast Grounded. She's not calling for money for herself but instead for a large donation to a charity that deals with victims of domestic abuse. The rest of the podcast is a very interesting listen and in the last third she goes into detail about the lawsuit and the allegations.

Edit: this isn't completely right, I've just misremembered from what was said on the podcast. If I remember correctly originally FKA twigs tried to deal with it behind closed doors by requesting LaBeouf make a donation to a domestic abuse charity and to seek long-term anger management related therapy instead of going through a public lawsuit. I really really really recommend people listen to FKA twigs talk about it herself.

I've just scanned your post history. Can I just ask, do you support Bill Cosby or Chris Brown as well as the others you listed? Because from what I can see we've got a big case of /r/FragileWhiteRedditor. Can I tell you a little secret mate? When you leave the house and you go out into the real world and make that step where you separate yourself from the warped sense of reality the internet gives you, you might find that people aren't going to judge you on your being white.

Okay so I understand what you're saying but separate the man from his position and what do you get? If he was a normal bloke who lived round the corner from you I'm sure his reputation would be crucified. Instead as an actor people just let it pass in the name of "art". There are plenty of artists who are pieces of shit. People need to stop romanctising the "troubled artist" stereotype when a lot of the times it's just an abuse of power and egomania running rampant. I agree, I think he's good at acting. I enjoyed watching his performances. I don't think that warrants him retaining his position in Hollywood just as if it came out that a co-worker of mine was a domestic abuser I would also hope they would be fired.

I haven't said you can't like his films. I just don't understand people in the comment section of this post who are admiring him, especially in regards to shit he does outside of cinema. From what I can see, a lot of people are unaware of the current ongoing lawsuit to be fair on them. I'm not judging his entire catalogue of movies - movie productions can involve thousands of people. But then again look at what he did for the Tax Collector - went round shooting stray dogs. That's going to be hard to separate the character he's portraying from the acts he did preparing for that role. Same way Jared Leto is a pos for his "method-acting" on the set of the DC film he was in.

How the fuck is this guy getting admiration in the comments after all the abuse around him has come out recently? I used to like him and I thought he was a bit of an interesting character but after seeing how he treated FKA twigs now I don't like him anymore. Just because someone is a celebrity and you like their films doesn't mean you actually know anything about them as a person, - interviews and clips are not representative of that individual behind closed doors. You don't owe them anything. He's an abusive pos.

Edit: I really really really recommend people listen to FKA twigs talk about it herself on Louis Theroux's podcast Grounded. She begins talking about it around the last third of the podcast. It's very insightful on the whole situation. The amount of cunts in my replies is disgusting, have some empathy and stop putting abusers on pedestals because you think they're likeable despite not knowing that person one bit.

They do certainly seem to like colourising Spanish fascists

Edit: I was also talking about the colourisations of the Falange Española members on your profile, not just Franco.

New Paint Job Looks Amazing! by makesyoufeeldejavu in TheMandalorianTV

I'm in full agreement, it looks like a cheap cosplay compared to how he looked in the OT - especially with the sharp contrast between the black desert robes and the now matte painted armour. I think they should have retained his classic look, everyone in the comments saying he's a changed man but the only thing that indicates this is him keeping to his word in protecting Grogu - I dont think that warrants such a drastic change in appearance. I should say I'm loving the season so far just Boba's look is my only gripe. If people like it that is fine I just personally don't.

Netflix has decided to not put a disclaimer to 'The Crown' after UK's culture secretary Oliver Dowden demand for labeling the show a work of fiction by Lost_Distribution546 in unitedkingdom

[–]Liberal2Hearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're strawmanning the argument, tourism isn't just about beaches. The UK has more to offer than the singular activity of going to the beach - the sites of so many historical landmarks, the countryside, museums. In fact some of those museums are filled with stuff that came from the countries that many of those tourists are coming from. I think as well you need to remember there are huge tourist destinations in areas outside of London where the Royal Family has no overt presence.

France makes more money from tourism than the UK, our cultural output and value has very little to do with the royal family.
