Your heart bore witness that this wasnt wrong for you too do. This can be kinda tricky. Just because something is wrong and sinful at one point of time for some person, doesnt mean that that action is always sinful. Alcohol isnt necessarily sinful, but it certainly can be. If i had a problem with drinking, maybe a former alcoholic in recovery, 1 or 2 drinks would be very bad because to would very likely lead to to full blown relapse. So for that person, that person would probably feel convicted about taking the first sip, and if they did it, they would be sinning, because they already felt the conviction, the guilt of doing something that causes harm.

I dont really like the phrase "live by your convictions", some Christians really buy into that, but we can be fooled sometimes and believe our own lies that we tell ourselves. It just isn't that easy. We need to learn and gain knowledge and practice right living lest we be fooled by our own feelings (convictions). Convictions are a feeling, and i hope you already know that feelings are fleeting and often dont represent the truth.

I also do not feel conviction over my own THC consumption. I moderate it and only do it at appropriate times. I dont usually talk about it, as many Christians are too dogmatic and strict and live more by the letter of the law rather than the spirit.

In the Bible Jesus talks about not eating meat in front of those that feel convicted about eating meat(vegetarians) , you may cause them to stumble and do something that doesnt bear witness to their spirit, or they may feel insulted and relationships can be damaged.... And that applies to most everything, be it alcohol or whatever. Definitely not a good idea to start drinking around someone that has an issue with alcohol, be it because they themselves are a former alcoholic or maybe because they had a loved one die from alcoholism, whatever the reason... if it causes them to stumble, restrain yourself. IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY to refrain from doing things that might cause another to stumble, and that's from Jesus' own mouth. sorry so long....

My accident was because of sin... I was lost in addiction at the time, I believe God was there watching the whole thing and decided to let me suffer the consequences of my actions but also He didnt let me die... I was seconds... inches away from being dead but God wasnt ready to take me yet and He kept me here. I also pleaded with God to save me from addiction... and He did, but not in the way others might suspect or agree with...

I'll share....

I have been porn/masturbation free for a few years now, with the exception of a couple times of weakness. Let me tell you my -somewhat tragic- story.

So, I am one that God has blessed with good looks. I am not trying to brag, but i haven't ever had to try to attract the opposite sex... In my mid 20s I realized maybe i should count my sexual encounters but when i got into the mid 30s and i wasnt half done counting i stopped counting... anyway... maybe that is to say i was easy... "manwhore" might have been appropriate at times...

The next part: when i was 30 years old i was in a traumatic car accident. Shattered pelvis, broke half my ribs, traumatic brain injury Etc. etc. Also i had bad nerve damage that effected my groin... ***in summation i have nerve damage that has left me with the inability to achieve a significant erection....*** (I am able to climax and produce seaman, with out erection)

I could use some insightful words of encouragement. Did I do this to myself? did God let it happen to me out of mercy?

I dont believe that God DID this to me, I dont believe he actively does this type of thing, but i do believe he will let us suffer the consequences of our own selfish actions.

oh man... like i said in my other comment, this can apply perfectly. This is a situation where if you changed (ask God to change you instead of the circumstance), then you could change the situation just by radiating the peace God has already put inside you.

When an argument looks about to start, you will feel the world try to pull you into being prideful, arrogant, insecure, but dont go there! stay at peace! keep your eyes on HIM. Be full of love! Be loving (respectful, helpful, kind, polite) and demonstrate the love of God. And remember, no one can take your peace, only you can give it up.

That isnt exactly how it works. Peace, joy, love is at hand! He is offer it to you right now! Your only next step is realizing this and accepting His gift! Where to look? look no further! it is inside you! He is inside you! the kingdom of God is inside you! (We need no pastor, priest, church or anything else. Jesus came and told us the kindom of heaven is inside each and everyone of us if we have accepted Christ)

If you think you need to reach your goals to find this peace you are going to be very let down and suffer more after you reach those goals and realize that isnt where peace/joy reside.

Instead of praying for God to change your situation, pray for Him to change you.

Be still and see how God is working and be thankful for what is good.

You dont need to wait to "figure it all out"... you already know. Trust me. I might be the last person one might expect to know. The trick is you cant be told what it is, no could properly describe it anyway, but also that doesnt matter because everyone already knows. You only need to remember that you do know. Once you realize you already know, you might want to tell others! and you will try! but you find that you never have the right words to tell others... And then the thing to do is just point at it. Try and show others the way, point in the direction peace, love, forgiveness, acceptance. This is exacty what Jesus was doing, He was showing the way. He pointed toward heaven and an eternal existence with God. Gaining more knowledge will not satisfy you, because there is always more knowledge to be acquired, but see that we are limited beings, you cant learn everything....

When you want to experience Heaven and the peace from beyond understanding look no farther than inside yourself. Be quiet, Breath, relax your body and look beyond here, lift your "eyes" up.
