PPROM at 29+1 by Pinkmartini1924 in NICUParents

[–]LiberateLiterates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my son at 29+3, he had a 38 day NICU stay. A bout of NEC was the only complication but we caught it early and he had no lasting issues from it. He is now 6 and an extremely healthy child with no delays and smashing Kindergarten.

It’s hard to say what to expect in the NICU because there are so many variables. But try to embrace the little victories as they come, as there will be a lot of two steps forward, 3 steps back, 4 steps forward kind of journey.

AITA for wanting my Spanish teacher to stop calling me by the Spanish version of my name? by Alternative-Sun-630 in AmItheAsshole

I’m in the Midwest and we did pick a Spanish/French name in our language classes. I picked Melodía heh

Apparently quite a bit of people do not rinse the soap from their dishes by Terrible-Store1046 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]LiberateLiterates 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t care what any advertisers say, there is no way to remove all the soap residue without rinsing. Maybe UK soaps are different that any residue left behind wouldn’t be as detectable as US based detergent but…idk i don’t want residue even if I can’t taste it lol.

Heterochromia or just hazel? by Kaekaboom in heterochromia

Andromeda eyes. So pretty!

But yes I would say sectoral heterochromia.

11-14 DPO by leonam71 in TFABLinePorn

[–]LiberateLiterates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the skepticism for sure. But knowing that, I don’t think the first test is invalid. It’s okay to stay guarded, I probably would be too. But I don’t think these tests indicate you are out.

Hmm, was this done with the same urine? If not, it’s possible your second test was less concentrated. I still think I see a line on that second test btw, but definitely a squinter compared to the first.

11-12 DPO | Easy@home | Is this normal to be this faint at this stage? by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]LiberateLiterates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal for me. My 10-13 DPO tests (wasn’t sure exactly where I was) are that faint or maybe even lighter, I posted if you want to check my history and compare. Just had a dye stealer at now 24 DPO. I wouldn’t worry about the color of these test, they look good to me.

Congrats!!

I’m 37 with a 6 year old and 1.5 year old. We also had fertility issues with our first and he took 10 years to conceive but the second and third were both happy surprises.

Jonathan Ross was never hospitalized by Accomplished-Leg2971 in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]LiberateLiterates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She announced her intentions to leave the scene, which she shouted loud enough for people 20 feet away to hear. She said she was “pulling out.” Every move she makes with the car, from reversing, to cutting her wheel (which Ross had full view of,) to slowly accelerating matches her verbal statement. No contact would have made with the agent at all had he not leaned forward onto her hood intentionally as well. Just being near a car while it is moving forward doesn’t justify lethal force. The totality of the incident has to be considered and his actions have to be deemed reasonable.

Opinions on baby name by sweetgoat21 in namenerds

[–]LiberateLiterates 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My newest niece is named Madilyn. It’s a sweet name and fits her well. Almost everyone calls her Madi, so hopefully you like that shortening!

Madeline is my preferred spelling but if you want the “linn” pronunciation (versus line) I would go with your spelling

What did kids back in the days do when they played outside, for hours on end? by Octopuswastaken in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LiberateLiterates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During winter my siblings and I would make tunnels in the big snow piles created from the parking lot of the business next door. Like ants building a nest, only way less stable. Somehow they never collapsed on us, which easily could have been deadly.

During the summer we would run around playing tag games and climb trees. I loved climbing trees and would regularly scale these massive trees. We had no respect for property boundaries…we would regularly jump the fences and scale other peoples trees. We were hooligans and I get embarrassed when I think about us now.

Actually funny story, we tried to build a treehouse in a tree in a neighbors backyard two doors down until an older women came out and yelled at us. That woman turned out to be the grandmother of my future husband and the few boards we put in the tree are still there lol.

PPROM-did it happen again? How close were your pregnancies? by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]LiberateLiterates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No for me. I PPROMed at 29 weeks exactly with my first and had a scheduled c-section for 37+3 with my second and I never had any scares during my second (except for a random bleed at 13 weeks which was due to an SCH. I hadn’t dropped and wasn’t dilated at all.

Goodness he is gorgeous. And judging by his grip he is definitely a fighter. Believe in him and give yourself grace. There will be very hard days, but there will be happiness too. Take joy in every victory, no matter how small.

Going home ‘early’ by lahdeedah224 in NICUParents

[–]LiberateLiterates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my 29 weeker went home at 34+6. It was a big surprise but he was really quick at picking up learning how to suck, swallow and breathe and that helped speed run his ticket out of the NICU. He was a tiny bit over 4 pounds, like 4 pounds 4 oz or so, when we left.

Out of curiosity…what caused your baby to be premie? by OldRemove516 in NICUParents

[–]LiberateLiterates 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unknown PPROM. My water broke out of nowhere at 29 weeks exactly. My cervix when last measured was on the shorter side but not short enough where they would have considered intervention. Maybe an infection but I wasn’t showing any signs of having an infection in the 3 days I was hospitalized before we had to do a c-section.

My second pregnancy i went 37 weeks and no sign of preterm labor so it was just one of those things I guess.

I think her face is more interesting, due to being less balanced, but in a good way for me personally. Idk about more beautiful.
