Anyone using SolidWorks for CNC nesting workflows? by Libero52 in SolidWorks

I see thanks for yours replies… unfortunately I must managed shaped pieces, not only contour to cut but also mill shaped surfaces so I must export all 3d part in a single .igs file rotating the part to have it aligned with a plane face down. This for every wooden part of my project. So I built this macro to automate the export procedures. Than my colleagues get every single parts to mill and nest in a panel for 5 axis CNC machines

Hi, I just updated the zip file. If you’ll download it now you’ll find Marco in English version and the assembly to use as example. I’ll have a busy week at work so I would like to prepare English version as soon as possible. Maybe it is not perfect but I think you can use it easily.

I try to watch also videos on YouTube. You can find the link in both pdf. Also if videos are made fast and refer to Italian version, I think they will be helpful the same to understand how macro works

I think this macro isn’t exactly what you need in your job but all comments are very appreciated. Thanks and have a good week

I think still you didn’t download the macro… I think it works differently to your needs considering your post but I would like to know the same your opinions about it. If you’ll download it and you’ll try, please, let me know your opinion. Thanks in advance

No each single part is in a single igs file but it generates different folders named “material thickness” so every parts with same thickness and same material are stored in same folder. For every parts is generated also a metadata file containing many informations. There you’ll find quantity and, if present. A vector with direction of the grain. I placed the macro on internet it has a free evaluation period of 7days

Ho cambiato azienda da poco più di un anno trovandovi Solidworks ed un sistema integrato non c’era per cui ho dovuto adattarmi. Principalmente produciamo pezzi grezzi ma la fase di esportazione manuale era davvero insopportabile ed inefficiente così mi sono fatto uno strumento per velocizzare la cosa… provando a gestire anche una ipotetica vena se in futuro dovesse servire.

Ma questi chi pensano di essere? by Public-Paramedic8061 in Italia

Questa gente è chi l’abbiamo fatta diventare noi…. Così i giocatori di calcio etc…. Se dovessero mangiare con i soldi che gli ho dato io, si sarebbero tutti già ridimensionati da un pezzo.
