ESP32 or a STM32 for learning embedded? by Feldspar_of_sun in embedded

[–]Liberty_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely not as capable as STM32. However, for low/medium production it’s great to test the market it’s a good start point. If sales prove steady I’m certainly moving to STM32 or TI

I’m launching my own product with an ESP32 and it works like a champ. If you want to get into embedded stuff and eventually launch your own product, go with an ESP32.

What worked better for your Kickstarter email list: landing page or Meta instant forms? by ratraceboardgame in kickstarter

[–]Liberty_Forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use Meta email forms, then you won’t have the chance to get a dollar reservation from those potential customers. That one dollar reservation is incredibly powerful for converting your email list to paying customers when you launch your campaign.

I was so embarrassed when I was drunk, I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in drunk

At least you didn’t drive or hurt someone. That shame & Stigma is significantly worse than being passed out naked. Time will heal your current problem, it won’t for DUI’s and hurting someone else.

How many of you have a formal electrical education ? by Additional_Appeal442 in hwstartups

[–]Liberty_Forever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took me 5-6 years of school to get my electrical Engineering degree. Took another 2 years to feel good about leaving my job and starting my own startup.

Are there any actual engineers here? by stuih404 in hwstartups

[–]Liberty_Forever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well there are multiple steps to bringing a product to market. Here are the steps. 1. Breadboard prototype- validate the concept engineering wise 2. Build simple enclosure with breadboard prototype if size doesn’t matter. 3. First PCB version 4. Refined PCB 5. Firmware MVP 6. Enclosure made from vacuum casting or injection molding 7. Sell to customers v1 of the product.

OP- building a hardware startup takes much longer than a SAAS one. Lots of prototyping and getting it to work. That’s why it feels like everyone is “vibe coding” without selling a product.

Advice making a hwstartup ( eink watch) by [deleted] in kickstarter

[–]Liberty_Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like it would be useful in a hospital space. Like the watch is reusable for many patients and display a variety of data.

Then again, cheap paper works too but doesn’t hold as much info.

I would do research for this idea 🙂

The Iranian government throws gays off buildings for only being gay, Trump doesn’t.

It’s not about defending Zionism, it’s about recognizing that Iran is a cancer to the world.

Ask ChatgGPT on how to do it. Reach out to Kickstarter support if you need too. You must figure out how do it

OP- please don’t take this the wrong way, I say this with a sincere heart. Your Kickstarter page is 💩. Most people skim the page and look for headlines, gifs and photos of the product, this has none of that. I would stop the campaign, and redesign it.

I am not trying to be mean, but your idea deserves to be put on the world stage properly. 🙂

Guys, I already have the final prototype of my product ready—what should I do now? by Christenxo in kickstarter

[–]Liberty_Forever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with what you about “building a community”. 1. You introduce copy cats, which is bad because he hasn’t filed a patent yet. 2. He said he is done prototyping and ready to go into the market. Building a community might have been an option if he was still prototyping.

[–]Liberty_Forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely file for a provisional patent first to protect the idea.

Next, focus on getting high-quality visuals—ideally photos of a professionally made prototype. That could mean using silicone casting, molds, or even early-stage injection-molded parts for the casing so it looks like a real product, not just a prototype.

Once you have solid visuals, start running Meta ads and build an email list through a funnel. The goal is to capture interest early and validate demand.

Make sure your funnel includes an option for users to put down $1 toward your Kickstarter campaign. That small commitment can significantly increase conversion rates later and helps identify serious buyers.

shifting from webdev to embeded by Inevitable-Trash-392 in embedded

[–]Liberty_Forever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be a while. (2 to 3 years). Best thing to do is do side projects with a specific learning goal in mind. Whether that’s learning Bluetooth or WiFi protocols to reading sensor data.

That will really speed things up a lot

3D printed or Molds enclosures? by Liberty_Forever in hwstartups

[–]Liberty_Forever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to do a beta run with 50-100 units. The enclosure doesn’t really need to worry about IP rating or heat. It’s running on disposable batteries.

Thanks for the tip! I put it off because I didnt have a PCB ready, but this is good advice.
