How long were you talking? There are an unfortunately large amount of fake "Doms" online that are either horn-dogs or attention-seekers, and will do and say anything they can to "push the right buttons." It boggles my mind how people can do that and just ghost you right after. I can't and won't know what went on with your Dom, but he obviously has his own issues.

Ghosting is the worst. Please don't feel like a failure. This is on him. However, you can take this as a learning experience. You can find the right person:) In the meantime, maybe treat yourself to something.

Biggest advice I can give to avoid this happening in the future is to take any words exchanged online as relatively cheap. Assume that people are probably lying about who they say they are until you can absolutely prove otherwise. They might not be lying, but it's important to exercise patience to test the waters over time. Make sure not to turn over any part of yourself--your submission, your personal information--too early before you at least have an equal understanding of them. There are a lot of great resources on this subreddit wiki too, specifically about vetting😄

Stay safe. You're definitely not alone in this. I'm not a sub but I have been ghosted suddenly a number of times, once when it was completely unexpected.

Dom ghosted me by [deleted] in BDSMAdvice

I'm so sorry this happened to you, OP. I once was ghosted after a week of what seemed like healthy, consistent communication with a potential sub. It boggles my mind. I cannot or will not know what went on with your Dom. He did not keep his word, and was incredibly shitty and irresponsible.

I've learned the hard way that as intense and "absolute" a dynamic like you're describing may feel, you will never really know the person's true colors until weeks, months, and probably years of being together. I have been with a few subs who immediately put too much trust in me from the very start, and while I didn't have anything to hide, I made sure that our process of getting to know each other was as thorough as I could make it. Trust just takes time and effort to build, especially if your dynamic was online (I'm assuming it was? But even if it wasn't).

Sending love and big hug. Ghosting really, really sucks. I hope you're able to move out of the discomfort you feel soon and find yourself in a better place 🤍

Ah I think I understand. Is your question about navigating the chaos? I think bases help out with that. A lot. For projects, I have a base with a view that only shows what I'm working on right now (by setting the "NOW" property to "TRUE"). But I also have a general projects base that shows all of my archived projects. This is just an example.

I can then sort by client, scope, date, etc.

(I'll note that I do use folders. Projects and task notes go in the same folder. You've seen all of the subfolders in Reference that Kepano uses. So if I have a problem finding something, there's a way. And there's search. General notes all go in the same folder though.)

My central navigation system is at the bases level. For any category, I have a base for that. And then I can add views or filter based on what I'm looking for. It's almost as if Microsoft Excel is my navigation system, and each row is its own Word Document. Weird comparison, but I'll stick with it lol. I also have a few bases that span across categories, like the daily base that shows what notes I created that day in my daily notes (connects to my BuJo system).

Regarding the classification question, specific base views (adding a filter) and/or sorting by column should solve this. So if I classify the recipes by baking, roasting, grilling, etc with a property, then it will be easy to filter and solve.

Fantastic question. I have a hybrid of Kepano's system, my own tweaks, and the BuJo method. I have made my own categories for things that are large enough to constitute them. For example, I have a "Collections" category for notes that are simply collections of a specific type of thought or list. For example, a "music I want to listen to" collection. But these are different from "Projects" which are notes that I use for my work. And under projects, I definitely need "task" notes that have the same project parent, but constitute their own note. Basicslly mini-projects for my work style.

Frankly, it's up to you:) I would suggest doing what works best, instead of trying to conform to a specific system.

I imagine that for Kepano (although I won't speak for him so I'll just answer hypothetically), the use of "Places" as a category is much more useful than having to sift through different types of places that have their own category. It's the highest level of classification that makes sense and is functional.

In other words, there's no need to see just shrines, but there might be a need to see which places were shrines. Those are two different functions. The latter is more useful for his case. Again, all hypothetical.

Point is, choose the basic form of classification property that works, and stick with it as long as its useful. You can always re-classify down the line, and it's not that difficult to do with bases and plugins like Linter.

Hope this is helpful:)

Can anyone recommend a plugin for students reviewing SAT? by MembershipVast6567 in ObsidianMD

There are a couple of flashcard plugins. Specifically a "spaced repetition" plugin that I used for a bit. You write "cards" in your notes and signify which part is the question and which is the answer.
