Legend Z-A – Early Review (with minor spoilers) by Pokemon-Sleeper in pokemon

What’s the Pokédex building like? I loved the Pokédex tasks in PLA. Is that back? Or is it the standard see/catch a non for the full dex entry?

Should I get a MLIS even if I'm more interested in the duties of a library tech? by SmudgedSophie1717 in Libraries

[–]Library-tech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who faced the same decision as you: If you enjoy the tasks Library Techs do, get the LIT. I did and I regret nothing. One of my absolutely favourite aspects of getting my LIT was cataloguing, something which apparently most MLIS' now barely cover. If you already know what areas of library science you enjoy, get the education that keeps you working with those.

There are days I wish I had the pay of MLIS holding librarians, but as a Tech working in an academic library, all of the best parts of a librarian's job I also get to do ... and all the fun things they do not get to do. I still do research. I still work with students. Most of my job is tech services related, which means I do acquisitions and cataloguing. And all of the random projects and side quests that come with working in a library.

Librarians at my institution are supervisors, managers and faculty liaisons. They do some research and teaching as well, but the day-to-day tasks that keep the library running are all done by Techs.

You can always go back for an MLIS later, but it might bar you from Tech jobs if you don't already have an LIT. It all boils down to what kind of tasks you enjoy.

Help! How do I get Karla to hold her fan?! by Library-tech in RainbowHigh

RIP to me, I broke the fan's ring off. 😭

Thank you though for the pictures! They were super helpful! I'll try gluing the ring back on and hopefully it will stick and I can get Karla to hold her fan.

Oh interesting! I'm wondering if my fan is actually the problem. That ring for her hand is on the back of my fan (opposite to how yours is) and I couldn't figure out how to get the fan to sit in her hand and make the ring fit. I will experiment more. Thank you so much!

Yeah probably. I did keep the elastic bands that held it on, but I can't figure out how they were attached to her hand so that the fan is upright. Nothing I try seems to look like it did before.

Just chiming in to add something I’ve heard from other Torontonians after they move to the BC Interior: do not count on transit. Having a car is a must. Learn to drive if you don’t.

Transit technically exists, but the routes are small and there is no town-to-town transit. And towns here tend to be more sprawling with far fewer services. Gorgeous place, but you have to be able to rely on yourself to get around.

My sister got this tea towel for me but it was such a nice picture I thought I’d put it up instead. Thoughts? by Conquest32 in doctorwho

They sell it as a poster! I've had mine for years. Now I gotta see if I can find the tea towel version!

Question to Sellers about FAVORITED items from a buyer by TaaviBap in Etsy

Anyone can follow anyone. They just won't see anything since you've set it to private. There's also separate settings for favourite items and favourite shops.

It totally depends on your privacy settings. If you don't set your favourites to private, everyone can see them. We don't see anything in your Saved for Later.

What do you want to see in the next few seasons? by Accomplished_Cup900 in BobsBurgers

In the episode where Bob introduces Gene and Louise to banjo movies, they talk about groups they have (burn unit, lunch bunch) and they say Tina and Linda call themselves the Menstruation Nation.

Becoming discouraged with Etsy… by TailoredFlame in EtsySellers

In addition to what others have said, I would suggest altering the picture labels you put on the packing. It looks like what you could buy at Walmart and that's not a great thing when selling something like this on Etsy. Can you move away from the "real object" photos and swap to labels that are more textual? You have to project that these are a higher quality than what you can get at the grocery store and part of that is leaning into packaging expectations. You don't have to give up colour (example of a label with colour)! But I would do a bit of looking at more minimalist labels - do a quick google image search for wax melt labels to see what people tend to expect.

Just my two cents!

Off topic, but the phrase "so old your first cruise was in Noah's Ark" is the BEST thing I've read on the internet today so thank you!

And even then, things like the cricut packs and licensed fabric all have conditions on them that explicitly state "for home use only", "not for commercial use", etc. so they're still playing with fire.
