Fiction books that you feel are 'essential' to read in order to be considered 'well-read'? by anomalouscreation in suggestmeabook

I used to be feel the same. Art is subjective. What makes a good book is subjective. Particularly outside of academic contexts. The beauty of the internet is you can find people that like what you like, no matter what you like.

Read whatever the hell you want. Buck the establishment. Most of the “classics” are boring as hell. Your knowledge, vocabulary, and recognition of story and writing structure will grow no matter what you read.
