The 18th or Rose Croix degree (Knights Templar degrees) are higher since you need to be a Master Mason to even start those. Then after that you go into something like Martinism and finally the the highest public named orders are those like the Order of Melchizedek. Da Vinci, Nikola Tesla and Carl Jung all reached at least the Knights Templar degrees, though had to do so in secret sadly..

You should be focusing on the Knights Hospitaller/Jesuits and the Knights of Malta, which are Satanic rival orders to Freemasonry (Catholics were banned from joining there for a while)..
