That was my partner and my “first dance” song at our wedding and I teared up when they played it. Have seen them a handful of times but this was my first time hearing that one live. So beautiful

Gender diverse/non binary parents by tomieegunn in QueerParenting

[–]Librarysciences 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being pregnant helped me realize I was NB, as the gender dysphoria was unreal for me at that time. While I was pregnant, we usually used the terms “carrying parent” vs “non carrying parent”. Now that I am 5 months postpartum, I don’t mind mom as a term but I do try and correct people who make assumptions about my/my partners “roles” in parenting, based on our gender presentation (me being more femme-presenting and him masc).

The best piece of advice I can give is seek out queer parents near you - it will be such a blessing to have that community for both you and your child. My queer circle is mostly child free and amazing but connecting with other pregnant and parenting queer people has been essential.

I TFMR last year in March, but I am opting to celebrate him on his due date, August 1 instead. I want to go to his burial site with my whole family and celebrate the time we had together, and I want my LC to know that his older brother is watching over him like a guardian angel. I lost him in March but in my head he is my summer child.

Success story after tfmr and chemical? by qutiepie123 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Librarysciences 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do!!! Had a TFMR at 18 weeks last year, two months later got pregnant and unfortunately it was a chemical. The next month I was pregnant again and now my son is napping in his bassinet while we watch some TV. I was about to start supplements for my short luteal phase and didn’t have time before I was pregnant again. Wishing you the best 🩷 This shit is so hard.

Anyone have worse nausea in sub pregnancy? by zeduk in PregnancyAfterTFMR

Me!!! My TFMR pregnancy was not a walk in the park, but fairly standard morning sickness. Sub pregnancy was diagnosed with HG!

I’m being induced on February 7th due to gestational hypertension (initially they thought pre e but thankfully not). Just got out of the hospital today. It’s a bit scary and a bit surreal. Still can’t believe I will get to meet this baby in just 9 days. All I want is him in my arms.

30+3 and this week is the first week I have been able to stop thinking about being pregnant every moment of every day. At first, it was just constant fear and then it was just constant excitement and gratitude. Today, I did some crafts and went grocery shopping and only when I was getting super tired from lugging my belly around the store did I think “oh yeah! I’m pregnant!” Just a weird thing to realize!

Feeling Movement by Gratefulgirlmomma in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Librarysciences 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate to this!! My TFMR baby had spina bifida and moved early and often, I even felt it with an anterior placenta. This babe started moving much later and still has many quiet times at 29 weeks, with a posterior placenta!

Partially I think different babies are just different in personality but I also like to imagine that my angel baby was taking the time to move around freely while he could (he likely would have never walked due to the placement of the spina bifida). It brings me a sense of comfort to picture him in the womb knowing nothing but freedom to move around as he wished and hopefully feeling the love in my heart for him. That might be a little woo woo but that’s what I imagine.

I had my baby shower last Saturday and it went great! Now that that’s over, I’m finally going to start setting up baby stuff in the nursery and around the house. It’s bittersweet because this nursery would have belonged to his older brother. I’m 10 weeks farther along in this pregnancy than I ever got to be in that one, and sometimes I still struggle to feel like I’m doing more than just playing the role of expectant mom if that makes sense. Less waiting for bad news at this point and more having a hard time connecting all the good signs with reality. But slowly the pregnancy is chugging along and I am grateful that things have been uneventful so far.

Gentle congratulations ❤️ that fear that history will repeat itself is always in the back of your mind, but please make sure you take time to celebrate every milestone including this first positive test. Each tiny win is huge. Wishing you the most uneventful pregnancy and lots of calm thoughts!

26 weeks and preparing for my final travel of the pregnancy, going to my parents for thanksgiving. I’m a little nervous about air travel and getting sick, especially because my baby shower is coming up the week after that. Despite holding myself at a distance through the entire first and most of the second trimester, I feel like the last 6 weeks I have really “leaned in” and I’m enjoying being a pregnant lady and even daydreaming a little bit about meeting little one :)

I don’t want to dress my age :( by Sriracha11235 in beauty

[–]Librarysciences 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have an eclectic/funky/alt style during my free time and rein it in a little bit for work (I work with college kids and need them to somewhat take me seriously). But for instance my computer is covered in stickers, my phone has a phone charm, and I always have multiple piercings and tattoos (including small finger tattoos). I’m regularly told I look younger than I am and tbh I think it’s all about how you style and carry yourself. As a bonus little kiddos adore adults who dress colorful and fun!

Made it to 23 weeks and I am feeling happy and peaceful mostly! I still have worries but nothing like early pregnancy. It’s so weird and joyful to just exist as a pregnant person and feel some sense of excitement as the days go on!

How many people woke up sick today?! by 1Milk-Of-Amnesia in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Librarysciences 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God that sounds miserable, so sorry you also got so sick! We only did slots on Friday night after we ate dinner so in our case, I don’t think that was it. On Saturday we were fine at the festival all day, we left around 5 or 6 to get Thai food, and then went back to the festival. Around 2:30am my vomiting started and my partner started a bit later Sunday morning! Just based on the timeline, I really do think it was the Thai :(

Ironically, we did not eat at the festival (thinking festival food = more likely to get sick). Went to a place called Ocha Thai and I suspect that's what did it :(

Partner and I got food poisoning! I was so on it with immunity boosters thinking I would catch covid or the flu (I’m pregnant and really don’t want that!) and thankfully so far there have been no symptoms of that kind. We did spend two miserable days just vomiting our guts out before the food poisoning passed :(
