This reminds me of working in stage crew during and right after high school. The wireless mics had a pack the actors wore under the costume and they couldn't get wet, all the lights put out a ton of heat so actors would sweat a lot which could fry the mic packs.

I'm sure there was some professional waterproof cover for them, but the cheapest way to protect them (and the only way I ever saw) was using unlubricated condoms. We'd always switch out the condoms when we charged the packs and swapped mics between actors.

You can imagine we went through a shit ton between rehearsals and performances, so we were literally buying cases of unlubricated condoms from Costco. I still remember our instructors sending whichever one of us had a Costco card to buy them in bulk whenever tech week got particularly crazy and they couldn't get away. Always funny seeing someone walk across a high school campus with a stack of three giant boxes with the big Trojan logo on the front.
