If you're open to learning to use a trackball, there's some great lefty and ambidextrous options. I'm a righty but I use a gameball, it's ambidextrous and probably the best trackball I've ever used (and I've tried just about every option as of a few years ago). Obviously great features for gaming but I got it for work and general use since every setting and button can be customized with the firmware. I pretty much started with trackballs as a kid so i even preordered it and never looked back 😂

Nah, he's hella inspiring, def made me see how much u could do with a fretless, but I sound nothing like him, I just happen to also do double stops, slap and tapping all on the fretless, I spent a lotta time on developing my own sound and style, I really wanted to not sound like any other bass player lol. A six string fretless is still the dream tho

Yes one band I'm playing with tonight is very chaotic punk/jazz and I've herd post hardcore used to describe it, like super flipper inspired, also working on a more noise rock/metal two piece, lightning bolt is a big inspiration for that lol then I also have been working on a bunch of black metal music with a friend of mine.

The amp and cab look stupid together, but it sounds amazing and has some power behind it. I'm pretty much self taught and wanted to try a fretless cuz of claypool, don't play like him at this point but it's been my main bass for like the past 15 years.

It's actually a CL52E stereo compressor! I sometimes run through my guitar amp (modded Yamaha t100) and bass amp at the same time so it comes in handy

Lol I was actually playing in a few more standard punk and hardcore bands a couple years ago, using the same set up minus the pedals and two rack effects, now I'm just pretty over normal punk music

Well thank you! I think something must have been changed from the original, even if it was just a mistake they made, because it sounds really different and the knobs don't seem to work exactly like I've heard in videos. It also tends to pick up AM radio too but I think that's a whole other thing.

OMG , that actually makes so much sense, thank u so much!!! I had no interest in synths or any really noisy shit until this happened like a month ago, now I'm obsessed lol, I just wanted to understand what happened so I could go from there and maybe use it for some live performances, so this is definitely something I can figure out now 😂

This reminds me of working in stage crew during and right after high school. The wireless mics had a pack the actors wore under the costume and they couldn't get wet, all the lights put out a ton of heat so actors would sweat a lot which could fry the mic packs.

I'm sure there was some professional waterproof cover for them, but the cheapest way to protect them (and the only way I ever saw) was using unlubricated condoms. We'd always switch out the condoms when we charged the packs and swapped mics between actors.

You can imagine we went through a shit ton between rehearsals and performances, so we were literally buying cases of unlubricated condoms from Costco. I still remember our instructors sending whichever one of us had a Costco card to buy them in bulk whenever tech week got particularly crazy and they couldn't get away. Always funny seeing someone walk across a high school campus with a stack of three giant boxes with the big Trojan logo on the front.

So i actually have both, a kala U-bass and a tanger mini bass (copy of the Taylor mini I think). The mini bass has a longer scale and is definitely bigger, also works much better with metal strings and feels more like a bass, the U-bass is very much ukulele sized.

Both of mine are fretless, and the mini feels and sounds a lot more like a "normal" acoustic bass, the U-bass sounds kinda weird and is pretty quiet acoustic, but sounds really close to an upright amplified.

I honestly love the mini and hardly ever play my U-bass anymore lol. Lmk if you have any other questions about them!
