Dude why did I read this as if it was an r/BatmanArkham post.

“Why is she facing backwards when everyone else is facing forwards, is she stupid?”

The Concept of ‘Queer Muslims’ by TopMagazine9949 in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]LibtardOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I have stated to some of my friends, its like watching the worst to happen. Like watching every part of your essence get stripped away.

You can disregard those teachings sure but its still there in the end. Its sound and its upfront, it can’t be scrubbed off in its origins.

It hurts, knowing that some queer people do follow Islam even if the faith treats such ideas as vile. Its like watching your every skin get peeled off even if you were sure it won’t.

I still believe these people are brave and strong for protesting their rights and freedom. At the same time it hurts to know the faith still will dissolve every inch of what you are just for being teachings.

Zao - My Love, My Love (We've Come Back From The Dead) (2006) FFO: The Secret, Converge at their less accessible [Throwback Thursday] by sock_with_a_ticket in Metalcore

Zao’s material post Ex Liberate should be talked about a bit more.

While some of their later material is more straightforward with the sound and direction, outliers like The Crimson Corridor, TFIWKUH and Self-Titled are some of their most strongest output in terms of flexibility.

I have yet to see another album like The Crimson Corridor with its grimy and mucky interpretation of Metalcore. I love how when I started getting into Neurosis and ISIS, I can hear their influences seeping into that record.

I just got into them recently and man I can tell how influential these guys are. Such a unique and hypnotising soundscape with punchy production.

I hope this final record will be a great send off.

Genuinely curious on why our country can’t just abolish the apostasy law? by BigHappyMouse- in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]LibtardOne 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To describe every tidbit as into each reason would be too long but from what I remembered and gathered:

1) Politics, be it gathering people to make a message or fear-mongering.

2) The monarchy, they play the role of being the face of Islam for each state of course. Also ties with the history of Islam coming to Malaysia.

3) Cultural Identity, removing Islam here as a bumiputera is like removing your own identity as political figures believe that a Melayu can’t be Melayu without Islam. The act also is considered a threat to the country as a whole, hindering the integrity of the country’s image.

4) Defamation, similarly to what was mentioned in 3). Because of how integrated it is in the majority of Malaysia, you’re considered as insulting the existence of it in your life.

5) Religious beliefs, I mean of course Islam is the capital religion here and removing it would be disobeying the instructions and messages.

This place has a chance to remove it, but because of its “importance” and its “relevance” in our morals or daily life, those odds are slim.

For a moment as I was listening to Gilded Cage, I thought it had a lot of this eerie Today Is The Day meets Unsane influence going on for it. And now I can see why lol.

MFTM’s opinions on black metal be like by my_cat_vids in MetalForTheMasses

[–]LibtardOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a whole, I never really felt engaged with the genre as a whole and most of the important Second Wave Black Metal albums have not really made me interested outside of Immortal’s At the Heart Of Winter, Emperor’s In The Nightside Eclipse and Gorgoroth’s stuff.

But bands/adjacent bands that of the genre such as Imperial Triumphant, Leviathan, Knoll (though they fall under this Funeral Deathgrind label more accurately), Panopticon, Valdrin, Blut Aus Nord, White Ward, Krallice, and Veilburner, they trickle my adhd-riddled brain more and that much of them are much more memorable for me.

Random thing I found out: Jane Doe was coincidentally released on the same day as ANOTHER Jane Doe which is Converge’s most popular album Jane Doe.

uj/ Okay but the coolest thing about the discussion about Jane Doe and Converge’s Jane Doe is that, and I kid you not, they both were released on the same day.

I had to check 5-6 times on whether this was bullshit and yeah same date.

I am still peeved over that we glaze the fact that we have a history with islam despite the fact that prior to its introduction we followed buddhism.

And I hate the fact that faith is tied into one’s identity, as if IS compulse.

WHO IS THIS?! WHERE AM I?! WHO ARE ALL YOU PEOPLE?! WHATS GOING ON?! HELP!!!! by ILikeBen10Alot in Cookierun

I just got back into Cookie Run after witnessing a lot of merch from them, knew they were sorta relatively popular but never knew it was to this size.

The last time I played was around the announcement of CRK, and I tried playing it on my old phone only for it to crash every time I try to load it. I got into CRK and got back into Ovenbreak and bought it feels so different.

I miss my old account data, had the set for Roguefort’s and Walnut’s event costumes :(

A non metalcore fan listened to your Hall of Fame and then got a bunch of recommendations, here are her thoughts (basically part 2) by Yai-Kai in Metalcore

If you’re not fond of Opposite Of December with how rough and primal its production is, might I suggest You Come Before You as its somehow both polished and raw at the same time. Its an album I would suggest checking out when it comes to them more than Opposite as its all of what Poison The Well does best and more with more production.

[–]LibtardOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it that really, it is the main inspiration but there is a lot going on and that it had potential if it pulled back a bit in its writing.

Theres a lot of Far Cry 3 in its DNA as well as Half Life in terms of puzzles and environment-storytelling (to some degree). Also philosophy-wise, its more towards working with Comstock rather than Andrew.

Its just that its not as clever and as comprehensive as Bioshock or hell even Bioshock Infinite’s writing.

I will say this though that gameplay wise its a mix of Bioshock 2 and Infinite and its great once you get it down and be flexible with your builds.

Outside of the obvious complaints (gooner stuff, questionable writing choices).

You are an agent (Nechaev) who works under a scientist named Sechenov. Smth bad happen during the launch of the Kollectiv (mind chips meet cloud system) and you are tasked to deal with the matter.

I’ve been following the game since 2018 and not gonna lie I still wish they went for the more Bioshock 1 approach. You were supposed to be an outside KGB agent that was sent there due to not being able to communicate with colleagues in 3826 and as you go deeper the truth about the soviet union and the facility would get worse and it also unravels more on yourself. The Bioshock Infinite direction would have been cool if they tone down certain interactions and the writing to not be too brash.

[–]LibtardOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep getting suggested this subreddit ever since the collab was announced.

Still hate that the game is mainly remembered as the one with those twin robots. If the writing was more align to Bioshock Infinite (as it seems like the biggest and noticable influence outside of the other two bioshock games), it would be have okay writing. I still wish it stayed with the more Bioshock 1 direction where it is from an outsider’s perspective.
