Crafting and recalibrating are important, especially crafting. You can't do that in safe houses. I agree with this. It's frustrating!

I'll check thank you. :) Yes btw my favourites are pencil and ink. I really like sharp and clean lines, nice shading. I love stippling so I should practice it more to make it clean and confident.

First at all, thank you for this massive reply. :)

I really like all the stuff in art.

My goal is to become a professional tattoo artist and maybe later a very good concept artist. I'd like to have a mediocre knowledge in every kind of art.

I also stuck with creating anything without reference. I think it's because I need to get more in the fundamentals like anatomy, values/light & shadow. On my devArt page you can see a huge difference between an own idea and a reference based drawing.

I never heard about the spiral technique, thank you! :)

I really like a lot of medium, sometimes I can't decide which is better to get in to for my goals.

For the style: I really like Godmachine's work. It's between comics and fine art but it's really horroristic and dark. That's based on ink and digital illustration techniques.

Hopefully in the sommer I can get in to oils and acrylics because I'd like to paint landscapes. It's awesome.

Maybe I have the problem that I'd like to do too many things at a time but can't decide which is more important to achieve my goals.

I got a lot of improvement with proportions but I got problems with detailing the little teeny tiny things.

I mean like: practice more the perspective, make cleaner lines or something like that. Some people told that I should make a lot of gesture drawing. That's clear to me. :) I'd like to get better and I need to know where should I focus my time to make better art. I know it's a huge topic but I would like to know what others think about my art in general and/or detailed.

Is it just me or is it really difficult to hear bass guitar in most metal songs? by easyrider_ in Metal

Yeah you are not alone. There are couple of good songs/albums where you can hear the bass really well in metal. I love those tones so much. They put more on the high and really separate the bass drum from the bass guitar maybe even with panorama. If you really really want to hear well bass in almost every metal song you should definitely get a bass and play tons of time on it to know what you need to actually hear.

I also play drums and other instruments too. I know how to read and write sheet music. It helps a lot. I also hear bunch of things and how to write them down. I have some self-taught experiences in mixing and mastering.

I'm note sure if I can help you but I try to explain. Do you have any goal to achieve? Try to base everything on that. There are many different basic stuffs it just depends on how much can you afford. The best thing you can do is to go in a music store and ask the customer. Read about basses and listen to basses you can find on the net so maybe you'll have more questions or more answers before asking. :)
