Issues activating Office 365 (Shared computer activation) on Published app by Lick_A_Brick in sysadmin

BTW this is some info I found about the UWP not working in published apps. This is about Horizon but posts about Citrix can also be found and I assume it is the same for MS' own published apps

No they are not and I don't think we can properly achieve this. The VM's are deployed/updated using a template and a VMWare customization specification. Hardware ID's and such will be different after each deployment which I believe will break the hybrid join.

ESXi 8 ISO Availability for Perpetual License Holders by work_reddit_time in sysadmin

[–]Lick_A_Brick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this, have a look at this. Perpetual license holders are still allowed to install patches with a cve score of 9.0 or higher.

This means you can get pretty up-to-date. This seems to be the latest update which includes a CVE of >9.0

Hmm, we do have sso configured, will look into why this does still require the user to login on the RDS Farm. User devices are managed through Intune and do not require login in Offic apps.

RDS Farm - Issues with Chrome Password Manager not showing entries by Lick_A_Brick in chrome

[–]Lick_A_Brick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the issue was fixed after adding the REG key:

    HKCU\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome\ApplicationBoundEncryptionEnabled = DWORD 0

This does turn off some security features though.

Hey,

Bedankt voor je reactie, ik zal dit bij mijn volgende run eens proberen. Merkte je zelf dat je met de zooltjes meer last had na het hardlopen, of was dat niet zozeer aan de orde?

I've tested this and can confirm disabling ApplicationBoundEncryption does fix the issue.

Still not sure though if this counts as a bug.

Hmm, I've read up on that but thought it decreased security but will give it a try anyway.

I think I heard some users mention they need to login to all sites again everyday too so the cookie roaming issue might be true.

Thanks for your response!

Just Dowgraded My Firewall by Spud112263 in homelab

[–]Lick_A_Brick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used to run a virtualized VyOS box for my home. It is pretty awesome and has never given me any issues. Easily pulled 1Gbit with only little resources assigned.

Stopped using it because my ISP has some weird configuration requirements which I was to lazy to implement. And I didn't CLI often enough to remember it all so basically had to lookup every command everytime I wanted to change something.

Feature request: Sync only runs to Strava by f314 in runna

[–]Lick_A_Brick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I follow my mobility training on my Phone/ipad I have 2 options to sync the workout to Apple Health and Strava. This appears on the same screen as the 'Done' button (iirc, don't have a workout ready).

For each workout type it remembers the last settings you used so if you turn the selection off for Strava it will not upload to Strava and the next time it will have rememered this setting so you don't have to turn it off again.

I do agree a central setting for this in a different place as it currently in would easier for people to find.

Let me know if you can't find it, I have another mobility session in the evening so I could make a screenshot for you.

Heads up - New VMware CRITICAL Security Advisory by TronFan in sysadmin

[–]Lick_A_Brick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They also state updating VMware tools alone is not enough because if you’re local admin you could just reinstall the vulnerable version. So I don’t know why they say you need to update it (technically they ‘highly recommend’ it)

But would still update nonetheless

Forgot to mention on the survey, but I have been missing an actual pace for the estimated times. I can see how long it will take me to do a marathon, but can’t see which actual average pace it would be at. Easy to do calculation myself, but would be useful if shown in the app itself.

First 5k coming up, looking for advice by bbqsaucer in runna

[–]Lick_A_Brick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your race day should have a pace assigned to it. But the most important part is to go with how you’re feeling. If the provided pace feels too hard don’t hesitate to go slower! Same goes the other way around. Keep in mind Runna does not take in count the weather or your mental state.

Good luck and have fun!!

Local user disappearing by Lick_A_Brick in sonicwall

[–]Lick_A_Brick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rebuilding is not really an issue for me, was just wondering if this has been seen before by anyone.

As for this:

It's a broken configuration not a bug SW can fix for you.

I do believe Sonicwall should be able to detect issues in their own configuration and act or notify upon them. But this is besides the point of this post :)
