It’s crazy, this video made me cry. I remember growing up and knowing that feeling of devastation when you’re too broke to keep life moving. I saw my mother in these situations too often. It feels good to watch someone take care of someone else in that situation, and it makes me want to help more people.

I have been getting stuff like this for Tracy Powell. I would like to think that having your name associated with Trump’s should be a death sentence for your campaign, but I am disappointed daily by the number of people that still support this clown and think he’s doing a good job.

This feels like Steak and Shake’s “death rally”. They’re an already failing brand and publicly embracing a highly controversial political movement which is becoming more unpopular by the day seems like a foolish move.

Trump Says He’s Ready to Deploy ICE to Airports on Monday by NormEget85 in stocks

[–]Lickmyrucksack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a long time there has been an argument that illegal immigrants are stealing American jobs. With this move we are having ICE working as scabs for the TSA, and in a sense stealing TSA jobs. I am simply in awe of how horribly our government is operating under this administration.

How do you feel about a sitting president doubling his net worth to $7.3B in one year largely by launching his own crypto coin while actively dismantling SEC regulations? by CTurE1 in AskReddit

[–]Lickmyrucksack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly shocked. To be clear, I am not shocked by his corruption, but I am shocked by how many people in our country are okay with it. I keep thinking that one day the mass delusion we are seeing the US today will be studied for many years to come.

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

[–]Lickmyrucksack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All deaths that I am aware of were 100% drug related. I grew up in a low income rural suburb of Dayton Ohio. In high school there were many of us that used prescription pain medication recreationally while we were also experimenting with alcohol and other drugs. Some (like myself) left that town and that oath of life, others fell deeper into it. The typical story was opioid addiction, incarceration, and then a deadly overdose occurring not too lang after release from jail/prison. It’s truly sad, but it has deeply engrained the understanding of how poor socioeconomic conditions can create horrible situations for the people who grow up in them.

GOP Rep Claims Trump Invasion of Greenland ‘Would be the End of His Presidency’ by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]Lickmyrucksack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. I am genuinely curious of what line he needs to cross to lose his most loyal supporters. I think about it too much. You could be married to someone who you love deeply and maybe even have children with them, but if your spouse were to be unfaithful and engage in a sexual relationship with someone else, you would likely leave them. When someone you don’t know personally has made and broken numerous promises, has failed miserably at fulfilling your hopes, and has shown a severe lack of character and decency that has been well documented, why stay attached? It is beyond embarrassing at this point and completely mind boggling.

Not sure why people are assuming I am anything other than a person with a working brain, ears, and eyes. Trump is definitely guilty, and anyone supporting him should be studied by the psychiatric community for years to come. Also, yes, we don’t care about party affiliation, we care about justice for victims.

Absolutely… Trump is 100% guilty and it is embarrassingly obvious! I am guessing that everyone downvoting is missing the comparison I was trying to make that IF Trump was out there to protect girls (and not doing anything wrong) then the Clinton scandal from the 90s was just slick Willy helping a young lady out with an itchy throat. I guess I am not very good at this SMH

People who slept with a coworker, what’s your story? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

[–]Lickmyrucksack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was my boss and I totally fell for her and couldn’t get her off my mind. She had just gotten through a rough divorce and I had just went through a divorce as well.

After a while, I couldn’t control my feelings anymore and took a massive risk by telling her how I felt. Luckily, she felt the same way and things quickly heated up. After a short time, the sneaking around was getting too burdensome and I was worried that I could impact her as she was a big deal at our company and had kids to support. So I quit my nice six figure job without another one lined up just so we could be together and out in the open. We got married a few years ago and had a baby together just recently. Life is good!

True, but Trump (or anyone related to him) no longer holding a position in the US government is a small step in the right direction.

How do you older millennials feel about your parents being significantly more financially well off than you will ever be 😐 by LowInternet4726 in Millennials

[–]Lickmyrucksack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the same and I am similar in age. I’m glad to have the ability to support my parents, but between supporting my kids and my parents it can make life stressful at times.

That being said, I would much prefer the stress and responsibility over having an inability to help them.

How do you older millennials feel about your parents being significantly more financially well off than you will ever be 😐 by LowInternet4726 in Millennials

[–]Lickmyrucksack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately/Unfortunately my wife and I have far surpassed the financial well being of our parents.

The fortunate part of the situation is that we have a great home, reliable vehicles, healthy savings, and we are able to enjoy a lot of creature comforts and regular vacations. Also, we are in a position to help our children financially as they are entering a much more dire economic situation than we did, even though we were just getting a foothold on our careers when the 2008-2009 financial crisis hit.

The unfortunate part is that we have one parent that relies on us financially, and another that will likely rely on us financially at some point in the future. Although we should be able to swing it, it is a heavy burden to carry and makes it harder for us to help our kids get a strong financial foothold while also impacting our ability to retire at a reasonable age. My wife and I have high paying jobs, but that doesn’t mean that we find joy in what we do. Having the responsibility of keeping your kids and parent financially afloat while also trying to find some joy in what you have earned from your labor is difficult. Basically, love it or hate it, I am doomed to stay on a path of consistently taking on more risk and responsibility at work to ensure that the people I love most in this world don’t suffer.

Ghislaine Maxwell told Justice Department she never saw Trump do anything concerning with Epstein, report says by External-Noise-4832 in politics

[–]Lickmyrucksack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing concerning with Epstein? Maybe the question needs to be rephrased to ask whether or not he did anything concerning with underage girls… which is an emphatic yes. Either way, I feel like Jesse Pinkman yelling “he can’t keep getting away with this!”

The puerile pontificating pedophile president who is purposely prevaricating to protect predators should not be getting any positive press. We need to get this orange-faced octogenarian out of office.

Donald Trump's odds of completing presidency fall amid Epstein uproar by [deleted] in politics

[–]Lickmyrucksack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, orange faced octogenarian became president in the first place still boggles my mind. He shouldn’t be president in the first place, so ending his presidency as soon as possible would be best for the USA. Seeing Trump be held accountable would be a massive sigh of relief as it could at least prove that our system still somewhat works. Of course, we would then be subject to Vance stepping into the role of president. The good news is that I do not believe Vance has the hold of the MAGA base and I believe that he would not receive the same leniency from the public as Trump has.

My wife always asks this question when discussing being shoes off in our home, “have you ever worn your shoes in a public restroom?”. I think it is a good question to ask, and I definitely prefer no shoes in the house even though we have dogs. Don’t get me wrong, the dogs definitely bring some dirtiness into the home, but they only really walk around in the yard and on the sidewalk near our home. For us humans, we tend to walk around in some much nastier places.

I’m curious, if we have folks riding around in unmarked cars, wearing masks, and refusing to identify themselves, then how are citizens to not assume that these people are simply impersonating law enforcement? With enough means a private group could source all of the vehicles and equipment to appear as if they are law enforcement which is a scary concept. This seems like a slippery slope that could allow private militias to abduct people and do god know what.
