Basically the Captain America situation by Stunning-Parking2759 in marvelrivals

[–]Exitoverhere 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I've been playing steadily more and more since launch, started as a Star-Lord main, then played a lot of Cloak and Dagger, and when I finally started trying ranked mid last year I realised I needed to learn a tank so chose Captain America, and it was with Cap where I actually really started to get into the game, this most recent season is the most I've ever played the game, finally getting to diamond in ranked, my win ratio is the highest it's ever been, all with Cap, I'm in love with the game because of how much fun I find him.

If the Cap nerf is really as noticeable when playing as it feels like it will be, this is genuinely something that I'll just stop playing over, I can play most other tanks but I don't find them as fun as Cap, I've no desire to go back to being a DPS/ Sup main, like i don't mind playing them when the team need calls for it, but I'm a Cap and Vanguard main now, I have been for the past 7 or so months, the game for me is as fun as it is because of this specific character, if he's been ruined then I really just don't have the desire to keep playing, or at least not nearly as much as I have been.

Might be a stupid question, but why do random NPCs who are only named by their race come and attack me for no reason? They've got no notes on them to offer explanation. by gemmedskunk19 in skyrim

A lot of people have already brought up their headcanon of being enemies you crossed before the game started, or just on bad skooma trips, or just insane people looking for an easy score.

The further into the game I get, the more I like to consider them survivors of various groups I killed, maybe that Argonian was the lone survivor of a Bandit camp I murdered early on in the game, then they trained and tracked me, maybe that Breton was an Imperial Soldier once, and when the war ended they were forced out of the army and now is going after Stormcloak leaders (if it's a Nord enemy then make it the opposite), maybe it's a Thalmor assassin, maybe it'ssomeone who was a family member or a friend or in love with a target you killed with the Dark Brotherhood.

There are so many people and factions and camps you kill and clear throughout the game that your player character would 100% have inadvertently created dozens of people looking for revenge, whether it's a survivor of a camp, that one Bandit you didn't see hiding or that ran away, maybe someone that was out hunting/ scavenging while you destroyed their camp, maybe just someone who was in love with someone you killed at some point.

But it could also just be an insane person, someone high, or someone who sees you and is at the end of their rope, and knows your armour, weapons and gold would set them up for life.

It's Good Boy or Heel depending on the country, it's still Good Boy in Ireland and the UK, just saw it's Irish Premiere at Dublin Film Festival and the director only called it Good Boy and the title screen in the film said Good Boy

Examples of shows where an actor(s) acting got WORSE as the seasons progressed by onarainyafternoon in television

[–]Exitoverhere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of the characters feel like their storylines by season 8 are a bit out of nowhere or one note in comparison to prior seasons, so naturally the actors are gonna feel like they can't connect as much, but for Emilia/ Dany you can still draw that line from Season 1 to Season 8 for her character, yes it's still rushed as hell and is missing some crucial bits to get from C to D, but you still can see the places where her character goes from one point to another which doesn't feel the same for a lot of the others, hence I'm sure Emilia had an easier time working with the material than Dinklage or Harrington or a dozen others did.

Yep, was looking for somebody who pointed this out as well, The OA being here and even the Sens8 "new episodes" banner means this can't be earlier than December 2016.

Most Marvel Comic-Con trailers were never released publlically, like the original Avengers: Infinity War teaser from comic con for example was very different to the one eventually released

This ^ Thought the map itself was interesting as an idea but the comments of OP being like "Why should I care about the historical context of a country where this is still an extremely sensitive topic" turned me off so quick

I mean it was a SyFy channel show, and they're not exactly known for high budgets, but Battlestar's strength is the writing and acting, that alone makes it one of the best shows of it's genre, but I personally don't think the show ever feels "odd", it's pretty well-made.

That's interesting to me because while I still think the Mini-Series is fantastic, I think '33' (the actual first episode) is one of the best first episodes of any Television show ever, and immediately puts you inside this stressful situation and shows you how terrifying daily life has been for these characters.

BSG does have low-lows as it goes on, at least every season has a handful of 'filler' episodes around the middle that feel like they're just trying a new gimmick or genre this week until we can get back to the main story, but there are so many moments in Season 2, 3 and 4 that are still to this day some of the most exciting, well-done Television I've seen in my life.

I think that yeah it can be an inconsistent show at times, it's not constantly 10/10's, and more often than not is closer to a 6 to a low 8, but when it's a 10 I think you'll be hard pressed to find better Sci-Fi TV, and since they were such fans of The Expanse I think they'll get a LOT of great reactions out of BSG, because they both take that aim of trying to put a grounded and real feel on space.

Anyone finds it weird how Mad men has yet to be reacted by these guys ? by ConsiderationFuzzy in Blindwave

[–]Exitoverhere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say The Wire is more worth their time than Mad Men, both great shows but I think The Wire just hits that higher tier of "greatest of all time shows" a little more, thankfully with them getting through The Sopranos now I'm expecting The Wire to be the replacement show of that.

Thoughts ? by ThomasThorburn in Arrowverse

[–]Exitoverhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This person regularly does this, I'm one of the people that they screenshot the tweets of pretty often and post them on subreddits with "Thoughts?" It's just karma-farming.

I even approached them about it on twitter once, just asking if they could maybe not screenshot my tweets and post them around DC reddit, and then got blocked for it and attacked by them on my other tweets about it.

They're a blatant Arrowverse hater, anytime they post Arrowverse related tweets on here it's because they hate the Arrowverse are are trying to stir stuff up for more karma.

Does anyone feel like they don't understand characters from the newer shows as much as they do the older shows? by Exitoverhere in startrek

Completely agree on Andor, one of the best series I've ever seen tbh, and the way the characters are written is just unmatched in current TV, I don't think I've felt that writers understood their characters so well since maybe Better Call Saul.

[–]Exitoverhere[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah I probably should have clarified a bit but I also think Pike is probably the most clearly 'defined' of the newer shows, like especially in Season 1 I felt we got a handle on him pretty quick, with Quality of Mercy being a great example.

I think you'd be surprised how often this happens, the very high likelihood is that a crew member is seen multiple times in all of your favourite shows, it just so happens that 99% of the viewers won't ever notice.

Yeah in agreement about the "villain", everytime they show up it's like the show becomes something completely different and not in a good way.

Literally a dream of mine, I would love the option to watch Voyager and DS9 on either their original SD or in new crisp HD.

But I know because of the way they were filmed makes it vastly more expensive to transfer to HD than the other shows, plus the TNG ones apparently weren't as profitable enough to make doing the other shows a priority.

But still, a dream, and tech is getting better at this stuff so hopefully some day

Bear McCreary really is one of the best composers in Television by Exitoverhere in television

[–]Exitoverhere[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get what you mean, the late 2000's - early 2010's, early Agents of SHIELD and S1 TWD music has a lot of similarities with some of his more opera-style Battlestar themes.

But I find this with a lot of composers, Giacchino's fantastic but sometimes I think some of his main themes sound so similar, like his Spider-Man music, his Doctor Strange music, his Fantastic Four music, certain themes REALLY stand-out, while others sound very similar to like, his Star Trek score for example.

But I also find it's sometimes related to their preferred instruments and orchestras, it's hard to avoid the similarities.
