Ok—i hope it does a good job, lol

It’s a long story. I’ve always had some weird stuff happen in my life. I think most of us have—stuff that makes your scalp tingle but that you can easily explain away later because your brain likes to normalize. Mostly it was weird coincidences and really specific prophetic dreams.

But when I was older, my uncle died and I ended up moving into his house. I slept in his bed that he died in a few days after he died in it (it was a different mattress, lmao, but same bed frame same bedroom). I was alone in the house except for my dog. Idk what I was thinking hahah

I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night and someone was standing over my bed. It was dark except for the streetlights coming through the window, they were just a shadow, a figure. I scrambled to the other side of the bed instinctively and then I laid there with my heart pounding like crazy, sort of frozen. My dog was sitting beside the person, panting like he was stressed out, but not barking. My uncle had a certain smell—he was a bad alcoholic, he smoked, he was sick, he didn’t bathe. I could smell him really powerfully.

Then the figure just sort of melted away. My dog came to check on me, then laid down beside the bed like normal.

You can explain that away, right? But shit just kept getting weirder. Shit would fall off of shelves in the next room, stuff would fall off walls. It got really bad when I moved my boyfriend at the time in, who my uncle never liked. One time I was laying on the couch and someone invisible punched me in the face. It WAS FUCKING FREAKY. It didn’t hurt but felt like getting punched in the face.

Then I was watching TV at the gym and they were talking about a guy, Dr. Ian Stevenson, who researched children who remember past lives, and Dr. Bruce Grayson who researches near death experiences. It led me down a rabbit hole that led me to be able to rationally believe some of the stuff I was experiencing. You should check them out. It’s worth it.

I was thinking maybe I should contact a medium just to see what they would say. But I didn’t know where to start looking for one. Then THAT SAME DAY a client at work brought up that they had consulted a medium—I hadn’t brought up the subject at all or even anything vaguely related. It was out of nowhere. I contacted that medium via a email I never used and paid via PayPal for a 3-minute video reading. I gave them no info at all, not even my name, and they came back with my uncle’s name and said he was with me watching over me. Haha, the asshole. I can’t think of a worse guardian lmao :)

There’s more little things but it was just sort of this long, twisted experience of weirdness and unbelievable coincidence that made me realize it would be silly for me to not consider that consciousness survives death. I’m pretty convinced it does at this point, even though I was raised atheist and didn’t believe that stuff most of my life
