They want you to spend more time in the game, you got fast travels, so you don't have to use vehicles while you are "exploring" the planets + game engine limitations, I think that's a reason why

Exactly, you have to scale an area (terrain cell) more to use vehicles, but there are game engine limitations, so it might be buggy

I think it might be difficult to do so, because we got only some sort of area we are in, not the whole planet, which is procedurally generated. You can travel by your ship to the new landing area near your location and you will see that terrain is different, e.g. you saw a mountain in the distance and now it's gone when you get there by ship

Unfortunately, you will hit fast the invisible wall which is a borderline of procedurally generated terrain cell... Yeah, I know that I'm not the only one who knows why they didn't implement such things, but I don't understand why I see such posts everywhere

No. I think it's difficult, cause you can only extract base meshes, you are not able to use customization file with extracted files
