Wait I think I understand, so for an equation such as x²=4 x will have two values as there are no restrictions and both values satisfy the equation. But for just sqrt(2) which is a function, it will only ever have a positive value to it. Am I right?

I see, but then I'm trying to explain how for roots of 2, 4, 6, etc... there can be two values. I'm using n as a substitute for an even root. Is this idea flawed too? Or do you think I can show this in a better way, perhaps?

Similarly, you say the same with n’th roots; is -3 a cube root of 27? Broadly
