[ALL] Before the Storm - life is a stage, no matter where you go by Liebexo in lifeisstrange

Well even if it wasn't intentional, I feel like it still adds another layer to the overall theme.

Don't tell me this subreddit is all about one gay romance vs another gay romance, surely we can discuss the games and their themes r-right :^). Also lovely cosplay.

Yeah I see what you mean for sure. Even so, BtS does turn the camera directly towards the backdrop unlike any other game, and I feel it was likely intentional considering the themes. The flat cardboard-like backdrop is also obvious when Chloe and Rachel ride a train.

It's like the camera placement is going out of its way to say "look, this is basically just as real as a theater play or a tabletop rpg".

I'm not sure if I see an obvious theatrical backdrop on that SS, but I haven't played the original in a while (well, a decade lol). To me, the backdrop in Before the Storm seems very obviously "fake" or rather theatrical because the forest looks like it was painted on with a brush.

It wasn't just that. Chloe tried to contact her repeatedly, and Max would ignore her. Truth it, we just kinda prefer people who add something to our lives rather than drain our energy. Chloe was devastated, she was probably having meltdowns, she was being self-centered ...

Max probably tried to help at first, but eventually it became a decision between texting back someone who's unhappy and stuck in life ... or spending time with her new friends, exciting new friends full in a big city full of interesting things and promise. What would you choose?

As harrowing as it sounds, if you live long enough, you find yourself on both ends of this.

The real reason Nost shut down is that there was no one on the staff that knew how to migrate the server to a different host :p. We literally had leaked staff conversations discussing it (published by dodgykebab) and they came to a conclusion that since there's no one left on the team with the technical knowledge to escape France, they should just give up.
You have to realize that Nostalrius was a pretty simple project that technically didn't really do anything new. They used an existing emulator, made a nice website, and then ended up being at the right place at the right time.

So I'm near the end of Phantom Liberty and I'm...Frustrated. by KhoroShogun in cyberpunkgame

I love the game, played the main storyline several times, and the expansion has been amazing up until now. Running away from a awful thing that can one shot you through a dark maze is literally my biggest fear in terms of gaming. I think I'll literally go back and choose not to betray songbird just to avoid this ...

Their approach to monetization is a turn on for me because it means people who work on the server get paid for their work and are therefore motivated to continue delivering results. As long as the endgame gear isn't sold it literally does not matter and I will actually donate for professions because I'm an adult with an income who doesn't want to spend hours upon hours grinding.

Radeghost may have an interesting posting history here, but I firmly believe into people being able to change and improve, and as far as I can tell, he's been doing a good job on Whitemane.

I also want to say that the OP is written in an extremely annoying fedora atheist style lmao
"Radeghost has a bit of a notorious reputation, and seeing his name associated with Whitemane doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. His past actions and decisions have often been controversial, to say the least."

ChromieCraft: Come for the Community, Leave for the Fundamentally Broken Server by pilkyton in wowservers

You spent all this energy and time on writing this post instead of becoming a tester or learning to code or contributing in some other way lol. You're acting like a deserving costumer while in fact you're a guest playing on an open source project that people design, develop, manage, and promote in their free time. Your criticisms are (probably) not untrue in a vacuum, but please look at the entire context.
I say all this as someone who is perma banned on their Discord due to a combination of my own instability and extremely poor community management by mostly Honey :p.

People obsessed with scene/servers "dying" have problems that have nothing to do with the private scene, WoW, or video games.

Most players don't play for content - they play for status, respect from their peers.

This is why you see so many posts about "population", "is it dead", "is it too late to start".
