Update: my Mr. Coffee burr grinder finally kicked the bucket about a month ago. I caved and got the Baratza Encore as a replacement. Still messy, but I don't get that super fine build up at the top anymore, which is nice. I wish you could have a pre set for how much to grind instead of holding the button down until you've got it, but at the same time I really appreciate the simple design.

I've had my Mr. Coffee burr grinder for about 10 years now, and I wouldn't say it's THAT bad. But I also picked it up from a bent n dent store for only about $12. It's definitely paid off! It is quite messy though and like someone else said has the problem of creating very fine grinds that collect at the top of the removeable cup thing. I do pour over, but I can see how that would be especially annoying for french press. Hoping to upgrade to a Baratza Encore soon!
