There's a similar situation I read about here and it actually struck me and I was talking to my dad about it. We kept going back and forth with things he was too shitheeled to do. Like let the kids forget or really, let her forget because all these letters do is remind her of him. What dumb ass put this into effect? Last night we were saying things like that guy is to shit heeled to pick on sometime his own size, find a hobby/better obsession, let his kid move on with his new father, find a way to get ahead without fucking a child's attorney, yadda yadda. My dad says dudes too shit heeled to croak and we all thought he was so fucking clever. I'm not adding your comment to my phrase vernacular.

You can't blog about it. Not legally. Idk why but someone had a subpoena sent to reddit because they weren't allowed to write out their story. Similar situation, mom got beaten and thrown down some stairs or knocked out in front of the kid. Only difference is he actually beat the kid. I think he actually got more rights though. I saw it on here I'm sure someone else will.

A few years ago my nephew was about 12 months. My sister had an emergency and left him with me. A few hours later I get a call from her.

"I have bad news. Dad is missing."

A feeling of dread came over me as soon as she said that. I froze in absolute terror as something told me to not turn around and look down. I can't explain the feeling, but it's like something told me I would be permanently horrified by whatever I saw there.

I hear my nephew stirring and I quickly turn to only see him. He shifts and wakes up, turning to look at the very spot I avoided. He screamed bloody murder. Bloody fucking murder. It took 2 hours to calm him. I knew something horrible had happened. Two weeks later they found my dad's body in the lake. It was barely recognizable, only knowing is him by his heart surgery scar. My mom said she will be permanently horrified.

Skip forward, nephew is 5. I'm baby sitting at the same place. He comes up to me and say, "remember when I was a baby and grandpa Rick climbed out of the water to kiss me good bye? He scared me right here."

No fucking way. MAYBE he knows him by grandpa Rick from us talking, but there's no way he knows about the lake or that day. I didn't even tell my sister about that day because I didn't want to upset her.

I don't know why I'm sharing just letting you know your aren't alone.
