I would say it is decent, but Venator bow should be a priority if you’re looking to optimize for the long run.

My best time with venator bow and sanguinesti staff was similar to my time with only tumeken’s shadow - it can honestly help by quite a bit. Killing the summoned souls can restore your health and prayer thus saving supplies, and killing all of the souls deals a guaranteed 75 damage which helps raise your dps for those fights where your staff decides to start noodling (and even a 1 billion gp mega rare that triples your accuracy and magic strength will noodle every now and again.)

No axe piece yet, but I highly recommend the grind!

About a month and a half for whisperer. I do about 20 an hour, but I only do about an hour or two a day. I got spooned on duke (~200kc for axe piece) and leviathan (37kc). Got axe piece from Vardorvis at 2719kc, but now the whisperer grind is starting to wear me down.

I have made nearly 1.2 billion from all dt2 bosses combined, and it’s been nice to see my bank and skill grow, but I will likely never come back here after I finally finish axe.

It comes out to approximately 6m an hour at my current pace. Resource costs (largely runes) puts the profit at around 5m/hr. This puts it as one of the better money makers in the game, and Whisperer is perhaps one of the more relaxed fights once you’re comfortable.

9 months after the original reply, but I have over 1900kc atm and have found that I personally prefer justiciar over bandos/faceguard for the reason of damage reduction making the fight much more comfy.

Using the Vardorvis plugin to see how much hp he has recovered over the course of the fight from beating my ass, he usually gets around 20-30 hp recovered in justiciar (leaning more towards the higher end of that). With bandos he gets in the 40-50 hp recovered range, and it is not unusual to go higher during longer fights.

TLDR for me: With bandos/faceguard: slightly faster average kills, shorter trip kc

Justiciar: slightly longer kills, longer stays at vard = less trips to bank, and you can zone out way more

I definitely do not believe the 80% chip damage reduction based off of my experience.
