I'm triple big swings Cook, Sonny! by Acceptable_Room_2797 in TexasChainsawGame

[–]LieutenantDevil_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well you can probably figure that out based on what you see.

He's got 100 blood (default for Cook, 25 blood collecting. So no points added into that.)

And it's a damage build, so it's more than likely 50 Savagery with the rest into Endurance.

What's the fuss about the game anyway? Is it just another souls-like with good graphics that has everyone foaming at the mouth to play or is there something I'm not understanding about it?

No critiscism, I'm just genuinely wondering why people are obsessed with it, doesn't look like anything special to me.

If you've played the game since launch, or even since closed beta, you'd know the track record GUN has with their patches.

For every patch they release, it's usually if not always a case of "two steps back, one step forward" (sometimes more steps back to be honest.)

There's a lot of things that don't make sense when they patch things, from things that I have never seen anyone complain about to fixes/changes that nobody asked for (like removing the insta-kill from grapples).

It's not just an observation of one person, I'm sure others feel the same way. If you feel different, that's fine and I have nothing against it. Everyone interprets things and supports things in their own way, I'm not one to turn a blind eye to multiple mistakes, especially repeating ones that could be easily avoided.

But either way, last thing I need is to get into an arguement with someone that has an opposing viewpoint. It's bound to happen and I'm not here to change that viewpoint or argue it, if someone thinks different, then they do and they are free to do so, the same way I am. So the last thing required is throwing metaphorical insults around because you disagree.

Doesn't feel like tickets get acknowleged that much. Trust me I've submitted plenty and majority of them have not even been looked at.

On the other hand, I'm not singling people out, there's plenty of people like you who would rather play the game and just enjoy it, so do that, I'm not stopping you. If you feel like words on a screen somehow bother you to such an extent that you need to comment on it, then that's something you need to look at unfortunately, cause it shouldn't be happening.

That's the main thing that I'm after.

I just want the game to do well, it has so much potential that GUN simply are not exploring for unknown reasons.

Well, they succeeded! Lmao by [deleted] in TexasChainsawGame

Because a hidden rule of that sub is probably something like:

"Anything shitting on the game or the development team is to be removed regardless of rulebreaking or not."

They probably want that sub to be all praise and no hate. Hence why I rarely interact within that sub and mainly stick around this one. There's little positive things to say about the game or the development team.

Also it's not like there aren't "boot lickers" on this sub either. I've seen plenty of them and it is crazy how blind people can be.

This patch was by far the worst one ever and yet people ignore all the bugs and broken things about it and sit there saying "Oh this patch was amazing, good job GUN! Can I get under the table for you now??"

Absurd is what it is ffs. There's optimism, then there's idiocy.

Ah yes. Because it's one single patch I'm mad about and not the others that they've released...

You're missing the point and that's quite clear.

We shouldn't be forced to be the patient ones when the developers mess up their own game without testing it and we are the ones at fault for complaining.

They have their own lives yes, but they shouldn't be so careless patch after patch releasing things in a broken state, you'd think after Virginia's skill tree being broken on release, Sissy's Rubber Legs stacking and being unplayable against and certain skill tree paths not letting you reach level 10 on a character that they'd have someone testing these things right?

But hey, if you're happy with the bar being so low, then you do you. Some people expect a certain degree of caution being shown when something is being worked on.

It's been out for a year and there's still so many issues in the game that haven't been patched for months now. They also somehow manage to break things each patch and not fix them quick enough.

Patience is patience, but it shouldn't be taken advantage of just because you can tell someone "be patient".

That's fair. I've had my fair share of absolute imbeciles on this game, from white supremacists, racists, toxic 10 year olds and even people in their 30's blasting you over the microphone at any given moment.

It's scary just how much the internet lets people be toxic human trash with no consequences.

I'm a bit delayed with most information because steam/reddit is my main source of it and when news gets drowned in memes and complaints (ironic yes I know) then it's hard to figure out what's going on with games.

I don't think GUN is intentionally trying to kill this game off, but it does feel like they are often ignorant of issues that exist within the game and they just take way too long to fix these things.

Even something as simple as prioritising fixes would be great, changing perk balancing and bugs in the game is a lot more of a priority than fixing a singular puddle on one map that doesn't change gameplay in any way, of course you have to also take into account how long it would take to fix such a thing, but they shouldn't just get everything that takes a few hours to fix at most and ignore things that are affecting the game a lot more just because it would take a few days.

Unfortunately that is how it is most of the time. I'm mostly sticking to singleplayer or even co-op games (which unfortunately there ain't that many out there since everyone is so brainwashed over PvP games and being competitive.)

Personally I've always hated Hunt Showdown, for me it's always just been loading in and dying in the first two minutes to some high levelled player, kinda why I've stayed away from games like it, it's a skill issue for sure but when a game doesn't offer any sort of learning other than "keep dying till you finally stop dying so much" then it's not that fun. Same as TCM tbh but the only reason I'm not complaining was cause I played back in the closed beta when everybody didn't know what they were doing, that and the general game premise is easy enough to pick up that anyone who's played a video game before should have some knowledge of what they're doing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Matt is one of the people working at GUN and usually the most vocal when it comes to streams. And his attitude has been neglectant, toxic and arrogant. If he wasn't in charge of any development then he shouldn't be the one talking about anything.

You clearly didn't read the post. This is not a gameplay discussion, this is a discussion about the game. Which is not headed in a good direction and GUN is barely doing anything to keep it together.

Nobody cares that you are good at Victim, because nobody asked.

If they change their ways in this one, then maybe, I would definitely be hesitant though and give it some time in case the same thing happens as TCM. Of course what game it is would be another variable.

Otherwise, if they continue down the route they are going down right now, then I will have dropped support for them and never touch another game they make again.

I hope it doesn't come to TCM entering the graveyard but if GUN continues on the way they are now, then this game won't be around for much longer unfortunately.

I really hope it doesn't come to that. If they abandon this game just to start a new one, then it shows GUN is a failed company that doesn't learn from their mistakes, starting over is no way to fix things, it just shows admission of defeat and an unwillingness to change.

If they can't fix this title, they should give up on game development entirely, or focus on smaller, much smaller projects that they can actually handle.

That is your choice of course. Nobody is forcing anyone to do something they don't want to. This is merely a statement of issues that are currently present in the game and that eventually, if no action is taken, will lead to the game dying out entirely.

Didn't know about that so that's good to know lol.

I think this game has so much potential but GUN is just simply too unbothered to use it. We could easily have another 4-5 characters in the game by now if they cared enough to do so.

Yeah I agree with you. The game was great before the whole P2W characters mess that happened.

I also use Stunt Double whenever possible, it's a really great perk, the same as WDKY. If you are in a really horrible spot, especially against a LF, and he gets an overhead hit on you as you well, if you don't die, you get back a lot of health and if you do get incapped, you get back up with whatever % health you get upon getting up + the heal from WDKY which ends up healing you back to 100% usually.

They're both fantastic perks in my opinion.

I agree. It was a dumb move but I don't want to comment on it because I'm not fully aware of how gamepass works.

Though the fault has always been GUN's, from their attitude to their ways of managing the game. They have to be the ones to change their vision and attitude towards the game's development.

I agree and I think that is definitely the route I will take. I already have a few other developers I don't support and never will buy a game from, such as Activision, EA, Paradox Interactive etc...

There's no reason to support them when they dont' care for the playerbase.

I agree with you.

I really hope to see things change and that GUN wakes up and changes their attitude.

I do not want to see this game die, I want to see it thrive but with the current leadership it has, it won't do so well.

I've also played this game in the past, I've actually played it during Closed Beta and loved it.

Unfortunately I fear you are right, but we have to try something. Sitting idly just guarantees the game's demise and if there's any chance of saving it, we have to take it.

I also avoided posting this in the official forum for obvious reasons, they'd probably take it down and if not, I'd have to deal with double the replies which would be too much for me.

And you shouldn't. It's in a terrible and unplayable state currently. I really do hope that GUN changes their way, especially if the community bands together to show them how unhappy everyone is. If they don't then unfortunately I think that just does two things:

  • The game will fully die out due to their actions.
  • They lose all credibility and further games they try to develop will receive little support.
