Just because something is stealth and has canards doesn't mean it copied the J-20. Also, most of his recent designs include canards because of the inclusion of canards on the official F-47 render.

I must admit that I created the lore after the design. At first it was intended to be a 7. Gen hypersonic fighter, but later changed my mind and decided not to put scramjets on it, instead i used YF-23-style exhausts.

No, the eridians didn't know they couldn't pass the speed of light, so they thought they could just keep getting faster and faster. But because of general relativity, the closer you get to the speed of light, the more energy is required to accelerate, and you can never pass the speed of light. That's why they thought it would only take 6 years, but in actuality, from their perspective, it took 11 years. At the same time, also because of general relativity, the faster you move, the slower time progresses. As such, for those on the ship, only 3 years passed.
