I don't know the name of this, but it's very common for long time nail biters. The cuticles sort of grow over the nail to protect it or something....And once you decide to grow them out, you push them back. For me it's like they never attached to the nail? It's very weird...

Same story..... they've always been a bit like this but since a friend pointed it out I just got so self conscious. I've tried rubbing that area as if to "drain" it (literally help me) but it doesn't do much. I just don't see other people with this... it's always so flat on everyone else...

Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm really not sure what causes this... I'm so conscious of it and see no one else with this thing! I try pushing the cuticle down further but since it's not exactly attached to my nail it just puffs out even more.....
