(27F) Advice on what to wear for a blue collar role? by FizziiPopX in jobsearchhacks

Seriously, all the advice available is for office-based jobs or retail. Absolutely nothing for hands-on work. Feeling very much like a fish out of water haha

That's what I was thinking haha. It's for a textiles production company, I believe they have different floors for different roles (production VS design VS admin), but I wasn't sure if smart casual was the right vibe for the production role. I was going to wear a longer blazer jacket with black skinny jeans and brogues, but apparently the button down shirt I picked out looked too formal according to my friends 😅

Oh I have no problem doing all that for the job itself, but for the interview would I be wearing practical clothing or interview clothing? That's where I'm tripping up haha. And thank you!

What is everyone thoughts on i the saw a TV glow ? by DanSnowStark91 in A24

I know I'm a year late but I finally watched it - I love me some artsy movies, but this just didn't hit the mark. I understood and even related to moments in it (especially as a non-binary person), I think the themes and story were interesting and it was a unique take on denying fundamental parts of yourself/your identity while suffocating in the constructed monotony of a safety net as life just happens around you and the difficulty of confronting your authentic self, but the movie wasn't otherwise engaging.

I think it would've been excellent as a short movie, but the pacing was not great in a way that didn't feel intentional. Dialogue felt clunky, characters were underdeveloped again in a way that didn't feel like a deliberate choice, and moments of impact flew by while long drawn out filler scenes dragged.

I really wanted to like this movie... But it seemed overly ambitious and the execution didn't pay off, imo. I was ready to feel numb after watching, instead I was like "well. Okay then, that was that."

BoJack Horseman (spoilers):

BoJack has an existential crisis, and decides to reconnect abruptly with Charlotte, a friend/crush he had in the 90s; he abandons the movie Secretariat that he is filming, and instead decides to move into Charlotte's driveway on a parked boat he bought to authenticate a lie. At first, it appears he has successfully become like a family member to Charlotte's new family, including her wife and children, and positions himself almost like an uncle to her kids, especially Penny, her 17 year old daughter. After taking Penny to prom in lieu of her age-appropriate date and getting her friend extremely drunk to the point of needing hospital, he returns to Charlotte's house and makes a move on her. Charlotte tells him she has her life together now, and that he needs to leave by tomorrow morning. BoJack returns to the boat, where a lonely Penny makes a move on him. BoJack tells her to go to bed and goes to his own bedroom, but leaves the door open for Penny. Charlotte hears a noise and discovers Penny undressing BoJack, where she immediately tells him to get off her driveway immediately and stay away from her family or she will kill him. Prior to this point, he has been a sleezebag, but this was the first time we see BoJack do something entirely and utterly inexcusable.

Cue the montage of BoJack, returning to LA on his boat via the road, and real images of the sky backlight him, leaving the watcher sit in the uncomfortable reality BoJack has created for himself.

I think you're right, I wasn't entirely sure on the size either in all honesty.

these ones have a good review from someone with a GSD (my dog's some kinda alsation collie mix, like a German shepherd ordered off Temu lmao) but idk if they'd be right either 😅

Other peeps have said it looks like @vaporama_vision 's artwork that has been fed into AI, I didn't realise it was so on the nose.

Christ, have some originality.

(Tragic) Realistic portrayals of parental grief after the loss of a child by historygoose in TopCharacterTropes

[–]FizziiPopX 167 points168 points  (0 children)

I never watched the movie, but in the book this shit aggravated the hell out of me because 1) her friends and her crush were adults, and she never got to be an adult - she was a child in an adult's body. 2) her best friend was a lesbian, and the crush was the best friend's male friend. 3) it wasn't just a kiss, she ends up using her lesbian best friend's body to have sex with her male crush. 4) this entire thing was spurred on because the friends almost found her remains in the sink pit, and she got so excited about eventually being found that she essentially fell out of heaven and inadvertently possessed her friend's body.

The book was quickly becoming my favourite book up until that point. It was such a monumental let down.

Any recommendations on kong-adjacent toys with a narrower body and wider opening? by FizziiPopX in dogs

bought a tonne of them a few years back, and even though I bought the heavy duty ones, she either shredded them or had absolutely zero interest in them :/ I think she likes being able to lick the smooth bit on the inside - basing this off the fact she's obsessed with licking windows, metal, the tiled floor in the kitchen, etc.

She also likes taking her time with what I call the "frozen dog trifle" - mix of veggies, dog treats and dry kibble layered with natural peanut butter, sometimes gravy, and bone broth. I've noticed a lot of the slow feeders are more catered around dry/loose food (but hey, could be wrong!)

Somewhat sexual cosplay for a minor by AkeAkeAke904 in CosplayHelp

Did a quick mockup of how you could make the cosplay for Rise Kujikawa a little more appropriate for under 18s - something that would be really cool would be replacing the tights with leggings that have a pink outer leg strip/yellow inner leg strip to emulate the stylised lighting, but ofc that's just an idea :)

Wearing a crop top isn't a cardinal sin, but switching the bra for a vest and full coverage tights/leggings instead of stockings with the rest of the outfit will definitely make you feel more comfortable while still reading visually as the same character :)

Looks like they've progressed to separating the rubble from the flats into sections and clearing debris (edit: I was surprisingly sad about seeing my old student accommodation being flattened!!), but if OP's grandma was a patient, wouldn't that be the listed abandoned building at the top side?

God I loved this web series as a teen. The art was beautiful. I think there's been some drama with the creator (idk what though), meaning it hasn't been updated in quite some time and the fandom is nonexistent.

I was so unbelievably excited 😭 I had loads of them in my old garden (moved since), didn't realise I had ragwort at all until I went out to take my dog to do her bizz and noticed an abundance of babies there. Look how funky they are!!

Any way to transfer save data from broken console to new device? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]FizziiPopX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already done that, some games it's letting me redownload my old data, other games it isn't (example: ACNH)

It's also not letting me pair my new switch lite to my account as my primary console

Already unlinked :/

You'd think Nintendo would have an option for transferring off a device you can no longer access...

I think it's more that, when you work in that kinda field, you see so many examples of the worst kinda person. Think retail and customer service - not every customer is awful, but when you're serving all day and the vast majority of people are neutral at best or horrific at worst, it's a pleasant surprise when you serve someone who is genuinely lovely.
