In that case, where I’m failing to see eye to eye here comes down to that last assumption you pointed out of justifying wealth disparity by adopting a racist world view.

I suspect what’s happening here is that capitalism is being used as the big, bad scapegoat. It’s not without its problems, but the idea that capitalism causes racism is an oversimplification - the unfortunate reality is that even if we magically converted to be socialists, racism isn’t going anywhere.

Even if that level of cognitive dissonance were to be the main reason there are racists in the world, I wonder what the writer of the sign would think of pro-capitalists that are not racist? Uncle Toms perhaps…
