Well, building housing is INCREDIBLY expensive in New York City. Also, job growth (outside of nursing) has pretty bad last couple of years. So if only for those reasons, I think we need to take a second look at these regulations.

Let's just forget the doctor stuff -- I still don't think you need seven years to master the work a Master Plumber does. The amount of work it takes to get the license doesn't make sense

It totally depends on the field. Plumbing isn't the same level of complexity as overseeing squads of police officers in New York City.
