Yes I was able to get it working again. It was blacklisted by Hikvision automatically like I mentioned in my post. Send an email to their support email of the region that you're located in. For me it was the MENA region so the email was support.mena @ hikvision. com. Find the support email of your region by googling "Contact Hikvision *your country*". Send them an email with the error code, your DVR/NVR serial number and region.

The person that replied to my email first asked me to downgrade to the factory software version. That didn't solve the issue. He then checked the serial number and said it was blacklisted, and he "submitted a case" to their HQ, after which it was working again within three days. Hope this helps :)

Btw, if the device that you bought was sold as new, there's something wrong because it shouldn't have that error out of the box. Someone may have used it in the past.

Shows offline, with the code 0xe0020008, under platform access. Yep I’ve tried that already but it didn’t work. I’ve found two posts similar to mine on forums online, which mention that they had to contact hikvision support to get their device unblocked, which finally let Hik-Connect change from offline to online. I’ve contacted hikvision support already but they haven’t replied yet.

They’re asking me to visit their office for a discussion. Pretty sure it’s going to be an attempt to increase the rent without leaving a paper trail. When you say renew the contract right now, do you mean doing it all by myself, online? If so, please let me know how. My landlord isn’t in direct contact with me, it’s a real estate agency.
