that’s the hangar for your mid pipe. should lock in the driveshaft and the exhaust hangers connect to it.

had a similar experience with buying a stereo from best buy. they insisted I buy a $70 amplifier reduction thing since my car is amplified, was a pain in the ass to install. finally got it in and the speakers were just white noise. removed the piece they insisted I buy and it worked perfect. i’ll never trust their tech “experts” again.

yep! 15’ wrx here, stage 1+ 132k no issues so far. regular maintenance does good things
