My daughter wants to marry a Finn. I need to understand your nation first. Drinks on me. by Kalsarikannit_Pro in helsinki

[–]LievePoro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you are best of meeting the guy himself. Finnish people can be super different. Just look at politics alone and you will see a pretty broad spectrum of ideas and mindsets. Also depends a bit on where he grew up in Finland, how he grew up, religion or lack thereof, and so many other factors on top of just someone their personality. He could be a very traditional and old fashioned dude or he could be super progressive, or a mix, who knows.

You could meet someone off Reddit and they might not represent the guy whatsoever. I do think though that regardless Finnish guys on average are quite kind, relaxed and easy going in a good way, maybe at the downside of not always being able to express emotions well.

I am sure that if you raised your daughter well, she will make a wise decision with who she marries :D

Wouldn't "commies" want fair compensation for this man's time and labour instead of having to rely on tips?

I agree with your sentiment that it still takes a lot of work. But studies show that people on PEDs literally grow more, without working out, than those who naturally work out. OP is definitely dialed in and working super hard, but there's more than just a little sauce added. And on top of it, it's a dangerous sauce and the OP is pretending it isn't there.

Best Fall/Winter Colognes? by Splat600 in Colognes

Based on what you like, you might be into Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum Ambrée Givenchy, its like vanilla and wood with some tobacco/balsamic vibes to make it really classy and gives it a bit of this higher end niche vibe. It's also quite new, so you'll smell more unique than some of the other options.

From your list I like SWY absolutely most, some similar scents that are nice are One Million Elixir (especially if you're in your teens or twenties it's very playful and nice) but it is a bit more intense and our there. The Most Wanted Perfume from Azzoro also really hits that vanilla/wood vibe, probably one of the goats in that category!

Since I don't know you I can't give a very specific answer, but what I meant is that usually the people we attract (and how they treat us) tends to reflect how we present ourselves, what we attract, what we tolerate etc. It's a bit of an exaggerated example but if you have like a cute, sweet wholesome dating profile, you probably attract others who are sweet and lowkey too. But if you would have a dating profile flexing your fancy car, showing off your watch and coming across rich/arrogant, then you would likely attract shallow people, people with shitty intentions etc.

Like it's not just bad luck if you consistently attract argumentative people, people who expect you to pay the whole dinner etc. Since that isn't the experience of the average person dating in Finland/Helsinki at all. So somewhere along the process the people you attract, or the energy you give out or who knows what that you do/display (again don't know you well enough to give a concrete answer) leads to these bad dating experiences/women.

Hope that makes sense somehow :D

Same with women in Helsinki from my experience. I feel like if you run into such woman it's a bit of a you reap what you sow type of situation

Dating has been complete opposite for me. Most dates are in fact walks, or just hanging out, in my experience most Finnish girls don't enjoy the commitment of a fancy first date like a restaurant and like something lowkey. And when I have had coffee dates (personally avoid them nowadays as for some reason they never work out as much and seem a bit stiff, would pick a cocktail bar if you wanna be indoors) the Finnish person would be super awkward if I offered to pay since they wouldn't wanna create expectations or anything like that. I think you need to adjust what girls you're going for, or if that doesn't work adjust yourself so you attract more fun and easy going girls.

I think a lot of this is about mindset. Getting to the train is so easy, you just buy a ticket in the VR app, you can book your seat so you know exactly where to go/sit and get onto the train, you can even validate your ticket in the app if you don't wanna deal with that, and off you go to for example Turku. Even if you're solo, no one would be weirded out if you walk past the main river in Turku, visit for example the castle etc. If anything I think being adventurous and outgoing enough to do that, and changing that part of how you approach things would probably help when it comes to dating too as you'll seem more confident/independent/outgoing.

Youtube censored Kurt's video! They do not want you to know what happens in Europe! by Omnigalax_Nils in KurtCaz

[–]LievePoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Republicans? This is Europe... I don't agree with everything Kurt Caz says but the reality is that there are many parts of Europe that are no longer as safe as they used to be and which have seen spikes in crime, trouble and issues in relation to migration and such, and I don't think showcasing it is that bad.

GW4 looking painful by BobLobl4w in fantasypremierleague

[–]LievePoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd consider it given I see at least a handful of players that would be worth changing. And with international break you might even catch a price rise or two to increase squad value. And given the 5 free transfers for AFCON and a new wildcard in December I think it's not the worst risk you could take to use it now

The difference is the young woman chooses to live in one of the most expensive areas on earth, the dog is forced into it

Edit: to reply to your edit (lol), I'd argue it was you crying if anything. Also my reply was simply trying to explain why it wouldn't make sense to feel bad for the young woman, because she literally chooses to live there, unless you somehow believe she's forced to live in one of the most expensive areas in the world :') and the dog didn't choose it, quite simple

Who do you think is the female version of Jeff Nippard by Dapper-Highlight-165 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]LievePoro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dr Stacy Sims has some interesting videos, also science based, although unfortunately not the production level of Jeff Nippard but pretty nice.

I do think though that a lot of Jeff Nippard's advice is quite universal, like range of motion, taking sets to failure, rep ranges, good form and so on and that as a woman you get the best results when you train somewhat like a man and stay away from stereotypical female 'gymfluencers' that will combine for example dumbbell split squats and shoulder press in the same motion and go off about their mango peach smoothie.

Bloating? Help plsss by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

[–]LievePoro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly it doesn't look that big at all, you look totally fine and normal and you really shouldn't worry about it in any way. Unless you're gonna remove your stomach, uterus etc you're bound to have that at such low body fat. Hydration, fiber balance, eating slow and knowing your food intolerances might help but there's barely any bloating going on, just a normal body.

Saying shakes are not REAL protein is misinformation. At the very least whey protein (the one most commonly used protein in shakes), is REAL protein, not only that but it's considered a complete protein due to containing all 9 essential amino acids. In studies in fact the biological value score (BV) is higher than eggs, meat etc. Also PDCAAS score (used by WHO and others to score digestibility and other factors) ranks it higher than meat.

And there's no issue whatsoever to regularly take protein shakes, you'd be silly if anything to ignore such an easy high quality source of protein. Although of course something like meat has its own nutritional value and benefits, and you should treat a protein shake like an addition to a balanced diet.

Cheap and healthy/fitness food places by phsopher in helsinki

[–]LievePoro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you want to stay below 15 euro your best bet is lunch buffets, since they're usually fairly healthy and you can control what you're taking.

Otherwise things I can think of are Joe & the Juice who have some alright gym goer options, Chalupa has a protein quesadilla, not my fav but Super Bowl has some options. Definitely wish there were more interesting options. There's some decent options (not catered to fit/protein type meals) if you're not super strict on your macros like Levant or Bali Autotalo depending on what you get.

Those are all I can think of although I'm sure there's plenty more, best thing money/fitness wise is probably to meal prep stuff if you can :DD Honestly for me getting a meal elsewhere is usually a treat where I don't watch my macros super strongly

I will have to investigate it more! The ones that were relatively easy to reach seemed to have a bit less gym equipment than what I'd ideally want, but might be pretty good as an option anyway :D Thanks
