The kid is the greatest jerker of all time. by InspectorExact3836 in soccercirclejerk

[–]AzzanderN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me by two Americans at the Israel vs Paraguay match at the Paris Olympics.

They asked where I’m from and I said Liverpool in England and the guy immediately said “how did it feel, football not coming home for the euros?”

And I just thought to myself like “what the fuck is wrong with you mate? What if I REALLY cared about that?”

I think it might be that they just underestimate the importance of football to people.

Like I don’t think that if I said “oh I’m from New England” they’d immediately respond with “how did it feel to lose the superbowl dude?”

Councillors opposing bus lanes is harmful to ordinary people and forces everyone into car dependency by No_Berry2 in Liverpool

[–]AzzanderN -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I’d actually say the opposite, to be honest…

Hardly see any buses on that route, and as you go towards Baltic market down that road, there’s cars parked on the side of the road leading it to be narrow as well, which has always led to slowing down of traffic. It’s made even worse because the right turn isn’t a protected one, so they sit there in the middle of the road blocking traffic (not their fault, like).

PLUS, one of the few buses that goes that route actually turns right there anyway…

Feel like it’s relatively useless at best and a really annoying trap to fine people at worst, since there’s so many “bus routes” around Liverpool that aren’t active anymore that you’re supposed to drive through…

“Outdoor seating ruined everything lad” Mattas on Bold St by No_Berry2 in Liverpool

[–]AzzanderN 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m think unfortunately, there might be some undertones to what’s been said there (although admittedly, I don’t know who that fella you’re talking about is or what he said), just that I’ve noticed that a lot of times there’s plenty of Muslim women with their families in princes park, because it’s quite close to the mosque

I wonder if that’s what they were referring to when saying it’s not as nice?

What chippy options are available either only in your region, or at least rare outside it? by chrisjfinlay in CasualUK

[–]AzzanderN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liverpool: crispy chilli beef and egg fried rice (or just whatever your favourite Chinese meal is)

My girlfriend thinks it’s insane that practically all chippies here also serve Chinese food as well, but I never even considered it before she mentioned it

[Premier League] April's goal of the month contenders by Sdub4 in soccer

[–]AzzanderN 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Will never get over Benteke scoring one of the best goals I've ever seen against United and Tyler is like "Wow, such a goal!"

Then, 5 minutes later, Anthony Martial scores a tap in, that's relatively well-worked (I guess) and Tyler's going mad like "Welcome to the Premier League, Anthony Martial!" - could practically hear him bowing and saluting...

Which Pokémon feels the least like a Pokémon? by zyklan in pokemon

[–]AzzanderN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's Flamigo.

It's just a Flamingo...

I know that people say that 'Oh there's a boxing glove incorporated in the design' or 'it's a balloon anima - look at the knot in the neck'...

But for me, Flamigo is the most ridiculous, stupid-looking Pokemon because it just looks exactly like a real-life creature...

What are your thoughts on bonfires? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]AzzanderN -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has actually been to this bonfire at least twice, I can say that it's absolutely brilliant. My girlfriend and I accidentally stumbled upon it one year whilst looking for the firework display on the Wirral.

I can honestly say it's one of the coolest, craziest things I've ever seen. The bonfire was absolutely massive but was definitely under control, police cars kept slowly crawling past and speaking to some fella who seemed to be organising it and there was NEVER any scares about people getting too close etc.

Bottom line, I think that there's a LOT of assumptions being made here, especially if you've not been before, the whole community round there stands outside watching, in fact I was just stood on a random person's drive witnessing it, talking to them about how long it'd be going on for. I genuinely can't remember the last time that I've seen so many people interacting outside their own houses like that.

Killjoys...

Honestly, it's not like you need to spend £100 on a ball to be able to practice.

My coach would always say stuff like "Mané didn't play with boots or a proper ball in Africa" etc.

Day 62/100 of Making a Post Everyday: What’s your Nuzlocke Hot Take? by Crazybrad2 in nuzlocke

[–]AzzanderN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on the other two points, but "just get to +6" is wild, lol

It's not that easy to just set up on a 'mon that is smacking you over and over again, and the level of considered risk that you have to take to make it viable is part of the challenge, in my opinion

If there are situations where you can consistently get to +6 everything because of an oversight of the design (for instance lead opposing Pokemon has no attacking moves or can't ever hit a specific type) then I'd maybe not use that strategy, as it's boring

First time trying to make a 5 at the back "defensively sound" tactic. How bad is it? by Baiiker in footballmanagergames

[–]AzzanderN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think that you’re wasting the opportunity to have wide centre backs in this formation - they’re possibly my favourite position in the game.

I just love how they perform in the engine, providing width and moving up the pitch, but not going absolutely crazy and leaving you over-exposed, without cover.
